This. I always laugh my arse off at the naivete of clubs who insist on performance-related bonuses when they offload their shite to us. Besiktas probability thought they'd played a blinder when we offered them an extra 100 million if Cenk scores 5 goals in a season.

Happy with this. My optimism is cautious but nevertheless this is the most positive I've felt as an Everton fan in a long time.

If we apply that level of effort every game we will be fine.

Someone on Twitter suggested Emma Hayes who's just won FIFA'S female coach of the year award with Chelsea Women and one of the replies was "Why not, she's used to taking charge in a dressing room full of fannies." Made me chuckle.

Of those listed, anyone from Rooney, Lampard, Potter and Martinez would be acceptable to me (voted for Rooney). But honestly, I don't think any of them are turning this ship around unless there are fundamental changes made in how the club is being run.

Just as he was putting together the Everton gallacticos. I was looking forward to seeing El Ghazi linking up with Rondon.

Got a feeling we will have Rooney with Dunc as number 2. I’d be happy with that.

'Everton board meeting to discuss Benitez future'
http://www.skysports.com/share/12517144
Read Jamie Redknapps words - exactly why we should have swerved this guy. Forget his Liverpool connection, he's not a good bloke to have at a club.
If you can't be arsed to read it, he says he has a habit of causing chaos at clubs, is a politician, always blames everyone else, puts this person against that person, creates an atmosphere of the crowd vs the board.
Tell me Redknapp is wrong?
Even tonight, when questioned, what was Rafas response? Not 'yep, we need to do better'. Not 'I'm responsible for these results and I must do better' but to say he's trying to fix problems of the last 5 years, it needs time, the top scorer has been missing.
Now, to be fair, he's not too wrong HOWEVER take some accountability. It's the medical department. It's the DoF department. It's past decisions. Everything is about reflecting elsewhere. He has too many ready made excuses here and it shows. It suits him to have so many ready made deflections.
Let's be honest, these same defenders didn't do too bad last year. Now they're a shambles. That's coaching. That's the Manager.
A lot of people at this club are taking the piss. The decisions are woeful. Fancy getting us into a position where we have the worst run of results in the past 5/6 years but we can't sack the bloke because we've either fucked it up before or we've given him to much say and power within the corridors. Who's managing the manager these days? Fuck me.
And I'm sorry guys, but we as fans have to hold our hands up too. We've wanted every manager sacked as soon as they hit a poor run. We've booed them out and forced the decision. We've not allowed any potential project to properly find its feet before We've got restless. A whole generation has been born, grown up, had kids, who have also grown up since we've had a run of success. We can't be classed as a big club, rather a club in a big city. I know that won't land well but it's reality.
I just hope we find a way that makes sense and allows everything to settle. From the boardroom to the players to the fans. At the moment, every part of this club is ripping it apart. It fuckin sad mate.

Isaiah reacted to Gers fan in Nathan Patterson
Hi guys
Joined to see what you are saying about this young lad and to give you an insight from a rangers fan.
There is no doubt young Nathan is a star in waiting has been talked about for a few years and came thru the academy at the same time as Billy Gilmour (chelski/norwich)
He is a good raw player who has his faults but needs games at a higher level to progress he is fast and determined and a real trier many rangers fans expect him to progress rapidly with regular games and exposure to a better standard of opponent also if you like better or different coaching!
He is pretty much nails down the Scotland nation team slot now which is a sign of his undoubted talent .
He likes to attack and is not scared to shoot does not seem to tire easily.
Many like me would like to keep him but he can't displace our captain JT who by any standard has been an incredible player for us in the last 2 years and is not looking like his decline is anyway near yet.
So what with our losses last year £23 million and the requirement that wee need 8 million noted in December's accounts to finish season this deal makes a lot of sense for the club .
Everton are buying a rough diamond if you can polish him he will earn the club a big fee going forward .
I think if he settles in and gets a good confidence giving start over the next few months next year you will all be talking about him
We all wish him well as most rangers fans do for you guys we have many fans who have a soft spot for the toffees over the mob across the road from you .
Good luck for the rest of the season .

Suspending the season until the end of the January transfer window seems the most responsible course of action to me.
