Managed to watch the game last night, and I thought Gomes made us play much more positively when he came on.

Exactly. If Unesco want to give £1.5b (and rising) into the area to save the city in some other way, then I'll worry about their say. WHS is a nice to have compared to making areas usable, livable and even just plain safe!

Someone needs to tell them Liverpool is a working City and not a museum, and it works to preserve it’s heritage whilst providing employment growth and restoration of it’s past for all it’s citizens and visitors, and that will still happen without UNESCO calling the shots.

I thought Doucoure got clipped then, and don't think much of a foul by Holgate.

men of the match for me.  doucoure has been everywhere, davies been threading passes left and right, and gylfi been a part of all the goals.

Whilst not perfect, I think all three midfielders have really played their part tonight.

I didn't really look at it too much before, but James actually plays the first pass in that clip from near the centre circle and then carries on his run to get on the end of Doucoure's 2nd pass.

Some strong performances, particularly first half.
All of the defence showed resilience and really dig in.
Good performance from Gomes, for the most part.
Doucoure head and shoulders best player on the pitch for me. He's got some engine on him... Not sure whether to give it him or one of the other Doucoure's we had playing.

Southampton and Bournemouth looking at swap deal... Long for King.
I used to hate Long, but I do think he'd do a reasonable job as back up for DCL. He's just a pest and doesn't give defenders a minute.
 
I'm aware he's not a worldie, but he'd at least graft and offer something in terms of workrate.
