nutmegwolf203 reacted to London Blue in Carlo Ancelotti
I hope he wins manager of the season instead!!

nutmegwolf203 reacted to badaids in Gylfi Sigurðsson
I think that the improvement in Gylfi is down to him having a more defined role in the team (even if it’s as an understudy), but also that there is a bit of team spirit and something to play for. He looks like he doesn’t want to let the side down. Plus Carlo of course. First time he’s had all that here. Hopefully he’ll continue to contribute more.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Palfy in Tom Davies
Came in did the job that was asked of him, not the best in the team but a reliable lad to bring on when you need someone to fill a hole, could he get better under Ancelotti I think so still young and receptive enough to learn more.

I think that is as good as I have seen him play for a long time.
He was the one player with that little bit of quality and I am he was the one to slot it away.

Best game Davies has played in a long time

nutmegwolf203 reacted to dunlopp9987 in Carlo Ancelotti
Someone said it in the matchday thread, but it's one year to the day of Carlo's first match and we're now sitting in 2nd. And also, that's 2 goals allowed with 3 clean sheets in our last 5 league matches. And 13 points.
I would say pinch me, but I don't think I ever want to wake up from this dream

This has been the worst commentary team I've ever heard.

Also good to finally get rid of the monkey on our back of not winning without Richarlison.

Well that's quite an overreaction. Iwobi's been doing pretty well for us lately. Can't have a glistening performance every time he goes out, especially with these fixtures so packed

nutmegwolf203 reacted to SpartyBlue in Michael Keane
Just thought it was worth noting that there are about 15 players that have recent comments before you get to Michael Keane. I consider this a very good thing from a no nonsense type center back. He’s turned himself into a really solid, classy player. I can’t recall the last time I thought he had a bad game.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to RuffRob in Richarlison
what every manager loves is consistency - and Richarlison consistently puts in a quality shift for the team - both offensively and defensively. Some games will always be better than others depending on who we play and how we set up. He definitely misses having a attacking full back on the left, so we have automatically been a little toothless as an attacking force this past few games. I would say in most game he is probable most peoples top 3 or 4 performers week in week out.

Why?! Why would you do that?!
Running for cover before chaos breaks out!!

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Shukes in Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I think he hit it with his left foot the way any good right footed player would. Went for a side footed curler rather than power. I scored more left footed than with my right for the same reason.
His run was excellent, but no surprise. He used to do that on the wings often in his early days. He was always technically good.
Same with his passing, he is always receiving the ball and instantly looking up, and understands easily to play it past the back of defenders feet to unbalance them.

Really good post game interview from him, such a humble, respectful guy who is always working on his weaker areas.
Always thought myself his dribbling, passing and long shots are those weaker points. Showed he has it in his locker against arsenal. Never seen him crack a ball like that on his left, thread a pass to Richarlison or that good dribble. Scary how good he could be in 18 months.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Shukes in Alex Iwobi
I’m the same, he is much better when two defenders close him down fast and his instinct is to cut inside them. Once he’s one on one and the defender says... come on then... he struggles. Playing off instinct, he’s very good.
And I’m another that is happy to be proven wrong. If he carries on like this, I’ll admit I’m wrong.
At the moment, I’m happy to see him on the team sheet, and that shows how much he is changing my opinion of him. Keep it up please.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Isaiah in Carlo Ancelotti
What stands out to me is his game management. I noticed it especially against Chelsea, how he was constantly in the players' ears and shifting small things around in order to prevent Chelsea working out a game plan to score against us. Under previous managers I almost expected us to throw away leads in the 2nd half but I don't have that fear under Carlo. His vast experience and knowledge of the game really shows.

Have to give him credit. Teams that used be always give us trouble (big 6) he has us getting points and in most cases wins against. We aren’t afraid to play anyone anymore and it’s excellent. Not perfect yet, still a work in progress, but very much headed in the right direction.
bravo carlo

9 points even when we’re not playing 100% and missing 3-4 key players will do me

Clean sheet again. Can never argue with that. 6 points when we expected none and some crucial momentum into the busy Christmas period.
MOM - Doucoure - absolute beast
Hopefully Allan isn’t as serious as feared.

Shame Mina got his head to that ball at the back post because Dom was going to bury it.
Quality performance - he works so hard. His touch is getting better and better as well. Strength to strength, long may it continue.
