Dyche and Carsley to get us back up next season, I don't give anyone much hope of saving us this season, but as they say never say never.

Things are so bad Moshiri's ready to come clean that he's just a front man 😅

High praise considering the rest of the squad have been abysmal.

This is why it's ludicrous to even suggest relegation could be a good thing for us. It's an absolute nonsense.

Not the problem, but not the solution. Don't see how he can improve us, at least with this group of players.

Really think Brands + Silva could've been a good long-term partnership. Think they saw eye to eye on a lot and SIlva is a good manager, but it was a lot of pressure to be under when we were sat near relegation in December (Plus sounds like Ancelotti must've been willing to come, satisfying Moshiri's desire for a "Hollywood manager". Once Carlo came in, it was always going to be overspending on brand name players from Champions League clubs (Allan, James Rodriguez, etc) -- no room for Brands to control player acquistion or keep a disciplined wage structure in place
My thoughts on all the combos:
Koeman + Walsh: Was never going to lead to great things, but Koeman was the worst panic sacking of them all (sacked in October, right?). HIm and Walsh had different ideas + Moshiri was meddling about (Rooney), it was a big vacuum to fill with Lukaku's departure. Again, feel bad for Koeman as he was the first panic sacking of the Moshiri era and it set us down this road (five years ago now), but don't have a ton of faith in Walsh and not sure Koeman really has "vision" to build a team (nor the charisma/personal skills to manage a dressing room over the long term - probably the definition of a "coach" rather than "manager")
Silva + Brands: This one had potential. Young, progressive coach with more of a continental mindset that would've let Brands focus on acquiring younger players, "value" in the market, and building a coherent team philosophy
Ancelotti + Brands: I have fondness for Carlo but this is what put us on the road to FFP difficulties... We tried to hard to bat beyond our financial firepower, bring in a hollywood manager and all his brand name signings... Now we're suffering and have one hand tied behind our back
Benitez + Brands: I feel bad Rafa was stuck with practically zero transfer budget, however he took a squad that was midtable the prior year (albeit finishing on a low note) into a relegation battle whilst seemingly feuding with everyone at the club. Was never going to work.
Lampard + Thelwell: Both Lampard and Thelwell have at least one hand tied behind their back with the mess of a roster they have and without the financial power of Ancelotti and earlier's reign. I'm starting to have serious doubts about Lampard as a coach, but again he's stepped into an incredibly tough situation. Time will tell with Thelwell, I hope he's given a chance and can sort this out with our Premier League status in tact, but I'm starting to give up hope on tha as well.

Quinn31 reacted to Romey 1878 in Southampton (Home) 14th Jan
Do you know what really annoys me about yesterday? In that first half I actually thought we played quite well and could have been leading by more than 1 goal (Bailey, just keep quiet because I cba reading an essay on how Southampton were actually Barcelona at their peak and played us off the park). We attacked well and while it was still hit and miss, it was more hit for a change I thought.
I'm sat there at half time thinking just keep it tight for the first 10 minutes of the second half and the Southampton players will really feel the pressure then and we can push again and finish it off. We didn't even last 50 second of the second half and we kicked off! That absolutely killed us and we never recovered. The game was only going to be won by Southampton from that point on because our confidence is so fragile. Players didn't want the ball, players didn't want to play the ball forward (even with throw-ins we'd automatically face back towards our own goal!). Even if the ball forward was a simple one that was risk free, because a player had actually found some space, they still did not want to choose that option.

This was the worst decision of them all.
and he’s proven it took Fulham from the championship to the top 7/8 in the prem.

It really is, again just going for a random chat with his mate 'Jim White'. Just hasn't really got the sense to run a football club.
He's just looks weak saying his major decisions are all dictated by the climate of us fickle fans.
Some managers where rightly moved on as they didn't fit. Only one that I think was prematurely ejected was Silva.

I do have some sympathy for Moshiri - he has done his best for the club by making money available, getting the new stadium sorted out and part way built, we fumbled around for 20 old year before he purchased the club.
His problem has been he's just not been very good as an owner and tried to do to much without the right qualification and experience of owning a sporting club. He has left dinosaur Bill as Chairman - when we are crying out for a modern financial and footballing people. He seems to have listen to his 'mates' and maybe us fans rather than employ top people who run clubs at board level.
I am sure his intentions have been nothing but good of the club, it just been poor decision making.

I think that is a really good assessment of what has happened over the years.
I do think some of the signings before Ancelotti also tipped the FFP scales but many of those expensive signings were successful (Digne, Richarlison, Mina) or had reasonable excuses (Gbamin, Gomes, also Mina). Like you say though, it felt like they had a similar vision for the club if they could have been left to their work.

I don’t think anyone is arsed whether moshiri attends or not, fsg and the mansours don’t attend their clubs games very often. You’d take their success.

what we are arsed about is the people who make the decisions being fit for purpose. The fans have wanted to express concerns for quite some time now. The awful response by kenwright is to shut down agms, use his media stooges to silence unrest and put incompetent allies like Graeme sharp and DBB in place.
let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be the first time. He acquired the club by bringing Phillip green into our club by proxy. The man who rinsed BHS staff pensions. He then brought Moshiri in and no doubt negotiated his position to remain as chairman as part of the deal.

the chickens have well and truly come home to roost. I think bill thought that bramley Moore was gonna be his legacy, probably get a stand named after him etc. him and his ego have stood in the way of our club.  We can blame moshiri, Walsh, Koeman, Rafa…….  The one constant in the last 25 years of bollocks is him. Going all the way back to the kings dock failure, his bullshit lies trying to get us to move to Kirby. Fuckin joke.   Ah but he’s a blue…… my arse.

Any idea of picking the assistant manager of a new manager, forget about it. It very rarely works that way, unless a club is doing someone a favour (like Duncan).

Hard to put up any other argument to keep him in the job other than the fact we can’t just keep sacking managers every 5 minutes
Under any other circumstances he would be long gone by now

I can’t be anymore confused by what I’m reading.

Relegation is in no way a good thing for Everton.
Relegation is the single worst thing that can happen to the club on the pitch.
    Relegation offers no benefits whatsoever.
Relegation offers the possibility of the club being financially damaged beyond anything we’ve seen before, especially during a £500m stadium build.
Relegation offers the threat of Everton not being a top tier club for decades, especially while other clubs with good investment and a good strategy solidify their places in the Premier League.

If you sit in your seat at Goodison Park every week, spend thousands each year watching the team, pour all of your emotions into every goal we score, and you think we can benefit from going down, let’s talk about it. Convince me I’m wrong here. But I’ll start the conversation; I’m not wrong.

Funny, I feel like a large section of this message board (probably myself included) thought ourselves too good for Howe. Now Howe is flying high and we're the ones who are desperate.

Such a joy to watch, not only for his skills / potential but the joy he gets from the game.  For a guy who is smart, speaks at least 5 languages, is stylish, can sing, and making money as a young person he could easily just be into social media, cars, women, other distractions, etc but this guy genuinely loves a tackle.  Love to see it.
