Other than that - dyche thought nothing of telling the media the slap wasn't an issue - Patterson just didn't get the joke.  I don't think he gives a shit about the lad and it came across as disingenuous as dyche usually is. "Good outfit" 

Yes I would rather the truth, I think the smack around the head and the fact that Godfrey kept him out of the team for weeks when we hadn’t won a league game for 3 months, is more than enough to tell me what he really thinks of Patterson, so now he knows he can’t play for the rest of the season he gives him praise, but never mentioned him when he wasn’t injured.

He got himself into some good forward positions, then he tried to cross the ball and he was awful, he had plenty of opportunities but never put one decent cross in. Given the space and opportunities he had to put some decent crosses in, it makes you wonder how many good crosses Patterson would have delivered. Dyche needs to get over his prejudices with Patterson, because if he seriously believes Godfrey is the better player, then he needs to find a job he knows more about.

I think he'll want to leave and I won't blame him, and the club will probably see it as a good move as well.
I'd like him to still be here next season but I don't envisage it. It's not like Stones where we knew he wasn't going to be at Everton for a long time but we were in position to keep him for a few years first. The club is an absolute mess these days.

What I meant is that I don’t see how there’s a case to simply downgrade it, it’s an all or nothing situation.
If on appeal they decided it’s not violent conduct then it’s simply not a red card offence at all. So it should be a three game ban or nothing.
