Shukes
Really good performance from gim and am excellent save at that end. He will he benched again Sunday but I would like to see more of him.
efc1111
He looked a more mature keeper and inspired more confidence last night. Certainly seized the opportunity and I loved his instant celebration with the fans after Redmond missed. I would really like to see him given a chance and I think if Howard cocks up again at the weekend he'll get it. Deacs
Hafnia
He's athletic which is more than I can say for Howard - Howard has got the heaviness about him now, reminds me of Shilton at Italia 90 "lead legs".
markjazzbassist
he has the build of a modern keeper with his massive height 6'5". courtois is 6'6". wingspan like an eagle on him. i really hope we see more of him and give him a proper go at the #1 keeper spot before spending in the summer. I really think given the opportunity he can do equal or better to howard.

Hafnia
Chris Woods has to be the unluckiest goalkeeper around. and Dave Beasant - either of those 2 in goal against Germany for the pennos. Beasant had a good record stopping pens.
Deacs
He did, and had he not played for Wimbeldon would have probably played for England a lot more. Bloody great hair as well.
chalkpie
The lad was solid as fuck tonight. All I'm gonna say is that I felt pretty damn comfortable with him between the sticks and wish he was there way more often. I know this won't happen though, so it makes me a little crazy. Shukes
Have to say I haven't been a fan but I don't think he did anything wrong last night and saved what he needed to. I was also impressed with the way he doesn't panick when receiving the ball. Good outlet.
StevO
One occasion when he punched I thought he could have caught it, but other than that he looks so much more assured than Tim. Maybe with Baines on the way back Roberto might be more willing to throw him in.
efc1111
He has a good throw on him too. Launched a good move down our left with a great bowl out of our half into someone's path.

Gatesy
I hope this man makes another appearance in the cup on Wednesday, we don't stand a chance against city with the bearded wonder in goal...

Without question he will, Robles is the league cup keeper. No doubt.
Elston Gunnn
Without question he will, Robles is the league cup keeper. No doubt. If Robles helps us pull out a wonder win against City, maybe Roberto will appoint him our FA Cup goalie, too.
chalkpie
Without question he will, Robles is the league cup keeper. No doubt. I'm not totally following this logic - at this point aren't the League Cup matches more "valuable" in a way? If so, why doesn't he play Howard for these matches? You really think Robles will get the nod for Wednesday? Edited January 4, 2016 by chalkpie

If Martinez has any sense about him which we know that he doesn't Robles should get the start due to his performances so far in the cup he has shown himself to be a more than competent man between the sticks... If nothing else at least he has words with his defence and isn't glued to his line the second a cross comes in.

chalkpie
C'mon lads - where is the love for Robles? I think he had a great match, and I genuinely believe the defence felt his presence between the sticks - they just had a different vibe than if Howard was there. PLEASE keep playing Joel!!!! PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
markjazzbassist
yeah he did have a good match. he is massively tall which is nice for shot stopping. let's hope he plays this weekend in the FA cup as well and gets a solid shutout and maybe sees time at man city because of his form. JoeQuince
What do you think RM is thinking about this weekend realistically? Joel. I'm pretty sure of it. Gatesy
I sincerely hope it is Joel he looks so much more confident between the sticks... The defence seem alot more comfortable when he is behind them and I am not filled with fear when a team gets in our final third... Martinez surely can't be that blind to pick Howard after this lads performance on Wednesday...
Cornish Steve
I'd rather Tim Howard start on Saturday so Joel is available for all upcoming games against City.
