If he enjoys it then great, but if he gets up the next day shattered and can't do his day job to his best ability then its not worth it. Cornish Steve
Imagine Liverpools season if back in December Luis Suarez tore his hamstring playing on a frosty night in Ukraine against lowly opponents... Suarez would never have played on a frosty night in December. At least half the team woud have been squad players. That's the point, and it's why we need a bigger squad. Guest
I can see Roberto really going for the Uefa cup next season. Its another chance to get into the Champs league and a trophy to boot. Look at teams in the semis this year. We could easily beat any of them. if we boost our squad by five or six players and get Kone,Oviedo, Gibson back we should be taking it seriously. We can drop in the Garbutts and Brownings at home against the minnows without it affecting us to much. Players im told would rather play twice a week than loads of intense training

Steve_E
We should hope Arsenal win the FA Cup btw as we'd qualify for the group stage immediately if they do while we'd still have to play a playoff if they don't. Of the three places in the UEFA Europa League available to English clubs the FA Cup winners enter at the Group Stage, the fifth-placed team in the Barclays Premier League enter at the Play-Off stage, and the Capital One Cup winners enter at the third qualifying stage. In the event that the FA Cup winners have qualified for the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup runners-up qualify for the third qualifying stage of the UEFA Europa League. In this case the place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club who finish in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. Popular Post StevO
Do we watch football to see a company make money, or do we watch with the hope to see our team pick up a trophy? I've heard a lot of people say in the last two weeks (not on here) about Europa is shit coz the prize money is no good. I know CL money would be great for the club, but any trophy is good news and much more fun to celebrate. Next season we will play in three cup competitions and we have a realistic chance of winning any of them. I'll be enjoying them all, I hope. MikeO
If we get a bye to the next round would that take money from the early rounds off us? It'd just be one home and away qualifying round that we'd miss Rubes, and the income from it would be negligible. rubecula
