However, given the the state of the squad with less than a week before the season starts, and the obvious need to retain players who are currently under contract, it is a serious concern to learn that Joseph Yobo has apparently emptied his locker at Finch Farm, said his goodbyes, and headed back home to Nigeria. Yobo, who has failed to appear in any of Everton's pre-season games, spent the whole of last season on loan at Fenerbahçe but saw a permanent deal collapse as collateral damage from the match-fixing scandal in Turkey. We patiently await any official word from the club... BE ABSOLUTLY GUTTED IF THEY JUST TERMINATED HIS CONTRACT, LOST OUT ON YET ANOTHER TRANSFER FEE.
