Captain of the England team in Victorian times and also a first class cricketer, gentelman amateur Charles Wreford-Brown is credited with inventing the term "soccer", derived from Association Football.

Did he score his hat-trick against Liverpool on the same day Steve Watson scored a hat-trick for Everton against Leeds?

 

Charlton 3-2 Shite I now remember who scored the hattrick from this score but had to lookup the scores on the day of watson's treble so feel dirty now!!!

 

Wasn't it mcfaddens debut vs Leeds and we were all fooled that we had the Scottish Rooney on our hands?!

Bit of added trivia (that I remember well) is that when Carlisle were in the first division in 74/75 they were actually top after three games http://www.statto.co...able/1974-08-24 and they beat us home and away.

 

If we'd won the two games we'd have won the titleshaking%20fist.png .
