Right. My comment wasn’t exhaustive. Pickford didn’t even spring to mind until right before I sent. All I’m saying is we’ve got far more British players than any of the top 6 barring maybe Tottenham.

Liverpool have got a lot too tbf

Well a lot more than most and more than the 2 suggested 👍

.....................Pickford.....................

Coleman....Mina....Zouma(?)....Digne

........................Gana....................

...... Sigurdsson........Bernard...............

Walcott..........Tosun..........Richarlison

So I think our first 11 is going to look like this dependent on Zouma (which sounds like its done).

World class goal keeper
Pace throughout that backline
Power and aerial ability at center back
A dead ball specialist
A lock picker, play maker
A defensive mid specialist
Tons of pace on the flanks
A great finisher in the middle

A very well rounded, balanced 11

McCarthy, Baines, Lookman, Schneiderlin, DCL, Niasse, Besic, Keane, Holgate, Bolaisie, Davies - represent a decent bench

Potential XI is all very well but it'd be a lot of strangers on the pitch if we played them all Saturday, Silva needs to introduce them when they're a more cohesive unit.

Gomes and Zouma (if it gets completed) are injured. Bernard hasn’t had a pre-season. Mina has had only a bit of a pre-season.

Only Richarlison and Digne are likely to be in the squad.

and we saw last season what can happen when we try to introduce too many players at once.  I think we need to give the squad time to gel.

Completely agree Mike, I think we’ll be seeing a lot of Jags, Keane, Baines, Walcott, Schneiderlin, Gana and Davies. A lot of people seem to just forget they all exist. The big plus is if anyone wants to keep their place they need to really play well, if anyone wants to take their place they will have to show they are better. Healthy competition and hopefully a high standard.

I'll be very disappointed if Baines has kept his place automatically. And Davies' spot is a bench spot, so I'm not sure why he's on the list when he's fighting for a first 11 spot himself.

Until Digne proves otherwise Baines is still the best option to be fair we havnt even seen Digne play dare I say he might disappoint

Thought Baines tired a lot by the end as he did preseason. Struggles after about 70 mins mark. His tired legs played Raul on for the equaliser. Still a player in there but don't think he should be starting every week.

I don’t mean they will all play Mark, but I don’t see them all disappearing either.

Take out the red card situation and I imagine Digne would’ve subbed in for Baines around 70-80 mins. I imagine that’s probably what will happen in our next game as we ease him into the fold.

No reason to ease anyone in, if you want to play win your place. Show on the training pitch every day you should have that spot, and when you get it play well enough to win it.

Fat Sam today saying he would have won against Croatia. This is why I'm kind of made up Silva's hands were tied with not being able to introduce all of his signings, because he has already proven that with near enough the same team we have a manager who can play more attractive, attacking and clinical football with fat Sam's team. Even though the one signing scored the two goals you could see a different attitude in all the old players. Get out of that one you fat arrogant cunt.
