DavisJD reacted to MikeO in Brighton (Away) Monday 12 April
My stream froze ten minutes ago and I only just noticed.

DavisJD reacted to Romey 1878 in Crystal Palace (Home) Monday 5 April
Ancelotti decided he was coming on, someone told him to get ready to come on, Ferguson held up the board to say he was coming on and then he ran on to the pitch with a big smile on his face.

DavisJD reacted to Formby in Crystal Palace (Home) Monday 5 April
Wouldn't it be lovely to wake up tomorrow morning, see us on 49 points, watch the highlights of a convincing 4-0 win, Richarlison and DCL grabbing a brace, and looking forward to the Brighton game? I mean, just for once, couldn't that please happen?

Delphs doing a good job (I’m aware of the oxymoron) of keeping himself out of the squad to be fair.

DavisJD reacted to pete0 in Jean-Philippe Gbamin
He looked like he needed a decent adjustment period to get up to the pace of the prem. Missing two years of football is gonna make it extra difficult. From good brief cameo there looked to be some talent but it could be another year before we see if he's good enough.

DavisJD reacted to pete0 in André Gomes
I'd like to see the one from YouTube. That version of Gomes had drive. Performance wise for us he's been very Schneiderlin, looks a class above when shifting the ball but ultimately just isn't putting in enough.

DavisJD reacted to London Blue in André Gomes
He has played really well over the last couple of months. I think physically, mentally and emotionally he is back to where he was before the injury.
When he is settled he is such a class player.

He’s had his critics but he’s quietly going about his business in a very impressive manner - plenty of goals and assists this season - important ones too.

DavisJD reacted to Palfy in Southampton (Home) Monday 1 March
We still have Chelsea West Ham and City away I would back us to beat the first 2, and with City last game of the season and them probably already crowned as champions by then if we needed a point or 3 from that game for a top 4 finish, we have the team and and belief to get what we need from that game.
Our season is going to depend on us showing the same commitment against the Southampton’s and Burnley’s and alike, beating Chelsea Leicester Spurs and Liverpool will be meaningless if we keep buckling to the lesser team’s.

DavisJD reacted to RuffRob in Tom Davies
Davies improvement has literally been like a new transfer coming it. He has been Toffeetalks MofM in 4 of the last 5 games and he wasn't to shabby against Liverpool either. This is pretty impressive, as most of us would have been happy to see him go out on loan or even bring in a transfer fee!!!!
We all love the James pass (which I think will be remembered for many a year), but Davies pass out of our own penalty area and in to Richarlison was pretty tasty but also brave. Given where it was and we where 0:1 up, he would have been forgiven for just booting it up field. No, he put his head up, and saw a pass. There was an element of 'risk' to the pass - but we had plenty of men back so the 'risk' of taking a pass like that was worth it. A few second later we where awarded a penalty and then finished the game off.
He had a couple of tough years developing with the chopping and changing of some relatively 'poor' Premiership managers. I now really hope we are seeing the re-birth of Davies. I am confident Ancelotti will be at the helm for a good few seasons now, and I think the stability under one of the best manager in the world bodes very well for Davies. I think in the next season or so he will develop ever growing confidence in 'his' game.

Get the average number 10 and he doesn't make that pass. James executes every time he gets in that position. It's pure talent.

DavisJD reacted to Zoo 2.0 in James Rodríguez
Anyone happy, or open to the sale of James is a lunatic. Anyone that believes that it will be a good thing, or something we could deal with is also a lunatic.
He shouldn't be here tbh, he could play week in and week out for Europe's elite yet came on board because of Carlo. I pinch myself every time he steps over that white line for us.
We should do absolutely everything in our power to keep him happy and/or here.

DavisJD reacted to StevO in James Rodríguez
If he leaves I will be genuinely gutted.
I don’t remember the last time we saw a player of anything like his quality in a blue shirt. Maybe flashes with a very young Wayne Rooney, before that I’d say Kanchelskis.
He is an absolute match winner. Tracking back and defending isn’t what he’s here for, he’s here to create chances and help us win football matches.
James has 5 goals, 7 assists, 20 games.
Gylfi has the same goals and assists but in 29 games and takes pens.
Come the next transfer window we need to be bringing in better players to help him and the team Improve.
He’s our most talented player, make the most of him.

DavisJD reacted to Romey 1878 in Tom Davies
I've struggled to even see a squad player in him ever since he broke into the side but he is, at the very least, showing he can be that for us. He's stepped in for Allan and there hasn't been much of a step down at all. That's something we've been hit hard by in recent times - the drop off from the first 11 to those stepping in.
I'm really pleased for him and happy that it looks like I'll be wrong about him.

Dukes has been immense this match, so calm and collected bringing the ball out from the back. More and more so as the match has gone on.

DavisJD reacted to Shukes in Manchester United (Away) Saturday 6 February
First half we were completely outclassed. Played off the park.
Second half Utd didn’t stop, they flexed and showed what a good team they are. But we defended resolutely and kept chances down to one of the most attacking teams in the premier league. They had efforts, but not many where you feel they should have scored. We made it hard for them.
The defence deserves enormous credit for not folding under that pressure.
Our midfield did well on that second half to use the ball when we had the opportunity. Once we had the ball, we actually looked dangerous.
Doucoure made a few mistakes, but overall was excellent for us.
Davies: not sure where we got him from, but a great signing. Looked a different player. That run and ball for DCL was sublime.
Gomes was at it all night, wasn’t his best recently, but it was up there. Looks to be getting back to his top form.
Defence was nervous on the first half, but second half they fought for everything. Even Digne managed to defend at times. Keane and Godfrey were excellent in the second half.
Now Holgate. He has turned into a strutting player, lost his pace, or rather is to good to sprint. Can’t go into tackles to hard or he will swallow his gum. Can’t put it down to bad form, as he isn’t even trying. Looks to be .... I’m a premier footballer darling, I do what I want...... type of lad. Grow up son before you fall fast.
Last five minutes was heart attack time. We have a run, and nothing comes of it. They have a few kick outside our box, we go up the other end and get a corner and waste it. That’s it all over. NO! We did t give up, we kept trying and got our reward.
COYBs!!!’

I am high as a fucking kite right now. I celebrated with a nice bit of JD and some green.
Two players were fucking woeful. Holgate from minute one right up until the end - his place in the squad will be under threat (not good enough at RB and he's probably our worst CB with the improvement Mina has been making). Olsen is pap and hopefully we won't make his deal permanent - I think he has some responsibility for Fernandes' goal and he definitely has it for their third. His kicking is shite as well - how many keepers can't hit it to the half-way line?! He's one.
Really proud of the rest of them though. I was disappointed with how passive we were after the first 20 minutes because we started really well and looked like we'd cause United a lot of problems. But we stopped playing and found ourselves deservedly 2 down. We didn't buckle though like we would have done in the past and dragged ourselves back into the game with two quickfire goals that were beautifully worked. Then again we stepped off and that annoyed me because I felt if we'd pushed for another 5 or 10 minutes we could've grabbed the lead because they would've been nervous at that point. We instead found ourselves conceding the third but again we didn't buckle and pushed and fought and we got a deserved draw.
