I've seen some weird conversations in this place for the decade plus I've been a member but this has to be the weirdest.
I didn't want our current incumbent, I won't ever take to him, and will feel a sense of relief when he's eventually gone (whatever the circumstances), but he's is so far above Bisto Tits. It's not even close and I cannot believe there's anyone that is even trying to say otherwise.
If we'd kept that fuck as our manager for the following season I wasn't going to be coming until he was gone. Yes, we've played some shit football under other managers but nothing gets near the turgid shite we served up under him. Nothing. I was losing the will to live and there was no way I was paying to watch any more of that.

Honestly I wouldn't drop either. 442 for me.

Modern football is a squad game, we need options like Gomes when we play 3  in midfield.

I'm not sure why Coleman should be expected to retire from doing something he loves, and wants to do, just because we've been so inept at bringing in his replacement over the past few years.
If we hadn't made an absolute mess of that no one would give a shit about him playing for his country.

They were both terrible full backs. They were just wide centre backs.
I am not as convinced that Coleman is a great full back anymore either. He certain has his moments still but he can't get forward anywhere near as much, he isn't the same attacking threat he made a reputation from, albeit I do think he is a better defender.

Agreed everyone wants hotshot spainiard and wants to off our academy kids.  Other teams back their academy and kids and give them a chance to shine.  It’s unfortunate we don’t do that here.  Davies was excellent last year.

I remember back in 1958, I was 22 and was introduced to Denis Law by Bill Shankly.  Denis Law was 17.  The introduction went as follows:  Bill Shankly 'let me introduce you to a future Scottish international'.  I shook hands with Bill Shankly then shook hands with the young blond lad stood next to him (who looked about 15).  The name 'Denis Law' that followed didn't mean anything to me at the time.  Bill Shankly was manager of Huddersfield Town and Denis Law was playing for Huddersfield.

And I’m sure Brighton fans would say the same about White if they were linked to Godfrey for £50m. The bottom line is that they’re both quality, young CBs, but I’m not sure that he should be a priority signing considering our many other problem positions.
