Just went out for beer and Josh did a bit of decoration (including my 37 year old double winners scarf), is it OK to start drinking yet?

Waiting for the team bus was like a bloody blue street party! Longest 7 minutes of my life but worth it in the end

Back home. What a way to say goodbye to the Grand Old Lady. Brilliant day all around. Weather, pubs, atmosphere, result. Was in the last row of the upper Gwladys and lost my voice and ear drums when Gordon scored. I'd never experienced 'limbs' before. Will absolutely never forget it. It was complete and utter chaos up there. My ears are still ringing. One thing that will also stick with me forever - we had a get a cab pretty quickly after the final whistle so we couldn't stay for the entire postgame 'lap'. We were 2 miles away from the stadium when we hit the first traffic light and the car rolled to a stop. You could still hear the stadium singing and bouncing. The three of us just looked at each other in complete disbelief.
In terms of the match I agree with so much about what has been said. To watch it live is so different than on TV. Iwobi's work rate was truly unbelievable. No idea how he put that shift in. On the other side I've been giving DCL the benefit of the doubt for weeks. No more. Abysmal performance. The worst player on the pitch and it wasn't really close. No way he should play but when Rondon is your other option he sort of has to. Frank stuck on this one unless he's going to put Dele in and use Richarlison as the main striker. Lastly, great to see Myko step up. He might just be good enough for this level but I also don't see him ever becoming an offensive force. Hopefully Patterson has the goods because they could provide a really nice balance as fullbacks.
Both games I've been to were 1-0 wins. Anyone want to start a gofundme and i'll happily show up to every game haha.
Finally, said it a few years ago after the first visit but it bears repeating. Thank you. Thank you for giving this random American a footballing home. I can't make it to a game but every couple of years but I love this club with every cell in my body. You lot who've kept the spirit of the club front and center as football continues to change commercially should be immensely proud. Thank you.
Now let's keep ourselves up for Christ's sake.

What an occasion yesterday must have been for you. So happy you were able to experience it.

Starting to love this lad. He has lots of room for improvement but having the amount of passion shown here means he'll be ready to put in the hard work. On a related note it's been nice watching the wheels fall off Digne's Villa lately.

This is why I want him around for a while, even if we go down. He's personally invested in this and that is going to count for a lot.

I really needed us to win this. Times are hard in the badaids home: I’m going to be out of work in 4 months, and a home and the wife and daughter are miserable about it. We’ll work something out and Everton’s woes makes things worse, so when we win the world seems a little lighter.

At JFK now boarding the plane. Win lose draw, relegation, no relegation. I know everyone on here lives and breathes this club, but I hope none of us lose sight of how special we are. The fans. We are the club. And no matter what happens we will support our blues til the day we die. Up the fucking toffees. Can’t wait to be in the Gwladys Saturday afternoon. COYB.

Thing is mate - he's not laid into the players every week. He defended them after the Wolves game when other managers may have questioned them. He is regularly quoted as saying "that's my responsibility" when it comes to coaching, motivating etc.
"responsibility and ownership" are two words we hear from Lampard all the time.
My assessment of Lampard is this - he is one of the most self aware footballers I have seen and the fact he speaks English and does so very well is a huge plus. There is no mixed message - this is a player who had the ordeal of being sat listening to a fan point blankly telling his uncle Harry that he was not good enough and was the beneficiary of nepotism..... Redknapp's response was legendary - "let me tell you now, this lad will go right to the very top".
Redknapp knew that Lampard outworked everyone even though he may not be the most talented. The lad broke his leg at 18 and had his own fans cheering as he was stretchered off - he came back, earned a move to Chelsea and the rest is history.
There is no way whatsoever he will not learn from mistakes - he will no doubt be analysing everything, but he will not allow players to continue to produce less effort than he afforded himself.

Winner in the 9th minute of injury time. Man of the Match for the guy who chained himself to the post.
