Or see's someone like Mccarthy to fill the void if needed. Slightly seperate to this, Koeman said in his WBA presser that he told the club to take its time in making signings so that he could assess the squad and the youth. Stekkers is solid at GK so an upgrade there is a luxury not a necessity. Still need a solid backup striker or one to pair with rom. He may turn out to be a better player than Stones - and certainly hopefully a more committed one who doesn't look/ push for his next move within months of breaking through into the first team. Just touching on the Stones/Holgate comparison - Holgate doesn't look quite as good with the ball but I think he already looks a better defender.
