We should be stuffing these but we cant find a final ball/shot in the last 3rd.

Our defensive organisation is superb and Gomes is pure class.

He seems to be really enjoying himself to. Had a few shots, taken players in, and his turns while holding the ball.... beautiful to watch.

Richarlison missed an absolute sitter. And the academy graduate on the right... just keep your eye in the ball.

We need a a good striker who knows instinctively were to go, Richarlison gives his all but he hasn't got that instinct to make the right run or movement, he's better playing on the left and cutting in.

We get one early and it'll be 3/4; if not we'll give away a pen in injury time and lose.

In all seriousness though this team is a joy to watch compared to the recent crap we've had to put up with.

We made hard work of it at the end but deserved the win, we have to turn our dominance into goals on another day they could have nicked an equaliser and we would have only had ourselves to blame, a striker is a must.

Up to 6th (though Bournemouth could push us down if they beat Arse tomorrow), I have a smidgen of optimism creeping in; not our best but got the job done. Happy days.

Big teams have to grind them out sometimes! Let's not forget we leapfrog united who didn't manage to do what we did today!

So I was half wrong and...er...another half wrong then. It's a skillB).

If you could be wrong more often and that gets us 3 points that'd be great Mike!

We're winning ugly which is a hell of a lot better than the diet of failing to win ugly last year. Above Manure now with plenty of room to improve. I kinda like the fact that Silva has decided what his first XI is, and what his bench is for matter, and is sticking to it. He has that luxury as results are good. But I still don't think he's got it quite right in the attacking positions and unless a couple of players step up he'll have to change it eventually.

I'll take an ugly win next week.

few things I took from that game:

we can win ugly if need be. wasn't the best game I've ever seen but a win non the less.

Gomes is unbelievable, easily the best central midfielder we've had in a long time.

Davies, Baines and Zouma having sprint races on the side line near the final whistle was brilliant, good to see the lads who didn't come on still going about with a smile on their face.

Richarlison needs to grow up asap, I love the lad but that play acting at the end was nobheadish. The keeper tapped him on the head like a little pat to say "oh you nearly got me then", a nothing gesture. Richarlison then starts rolling round pretending he has been smacked hard, been spending too much time with Neymar I think.

Agreed, but you've got to feel sorry for him as there was more contact in that incident when he got himself sent off early in the season!

This league is full of that bull-shittery.
