Trigger reacted to RuffRob in Anthony Gordon
https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-anthony-gordon-bid-newcastle-26045484
£30M plus add on's?
I would be tempted to take the money - it's either that or bumper new contract, and it is not the time for big new contracts.
Gordon is not the difference between us staying up and going down. If we do get Danjuma in, he in theory will be an upgrade for the second half of the season.

Trigger reacted to Bailey in Southampton (Home) 14th Jan
I disagree, I think this is a must win.
If we can win this and at West Ham it will move us a decent way up the table and hopefully things will feel a bit more optimistic.
If we pick up 2 points or less from the next two games, safety could feel quite a long way away given the games that follow.

Trigger got a reaction from Bailey in Frank Lampard
I'd love Frank to stay, but I just can't see what progress is being made with the training and "hard work" that is always being referred to?
Taking player individual ability to one side that can be fixed by transfers. Before the break we had many tactical and organisational issues. 3 main attacking ones in my opinion. (Defensively we looked relatively solid before the World Cup - Bournemouth aside).
1. Generally Moving the ball too slowly moving up the pitch
2. Midfielders not finding space or making angles to receive the ball when transitioning from defence to attack from the back.
3. When in the final attacking third of the pitch BEFORE receiving the ball, knowing where the next pass/cross was going to. (so that it was quick, the target player was in sync making a run if needed in order to break down well organised defenses)
While the World Cup was on there were 3 to 4 weeks to practice/train/coach the absolute shit out of this, yet there is no evidence whatsoever that anything like this has been done. There seems to be no apparent change at all!
I don't believe the players we have are all significantly worse than most other lower half of the league teams. Even if you don't have amazingly off the cuff creative players in the final 3rd, you can still run and practice the crap out of range of American Football style "set plays" for breaking down defenses in the final 3rd and run through them so many times until your doing them in your sleep.
Whatever Frank and his team are doing off the pitch with the players, I'm not seeing any kind of change in what the players are doing on it at all. This is what concerns me the most in sticking with him. If he is to stay we need to see evidence of the changes the coaching team are looking to deliver.

I've seen some shite in my 56 years of supporting Everton, but this is taking me to my lowest point.

Trigger reacted to Romey 1878 in Man City (Away) 31st December
That starting 11 told you everything you needed to know about our mentality today - no intention whatsoever to compete in the game.
Based on that, an absolute tonking would be deserved.

Trigger reacted to Billwelshblue in Frank Lampard
This is what I don't get they had most of the squad to drill attacking patterns into for six weeks and they serve up that?! I wanted Lampard to work as I don't think hiring and firing is taking us forward but he isn't showing enough and his in game management is worryingly bad his tactics poor. Sadly I think unless he can win the next home match he has to go. As for transfers whoever the manager is we need two forwards minimum

Trigger reacted to Sibdane in Wolves at home Boxing Day
Thought after the WC break we’d come back looking at least somewhat cohesive.
Nope. Same shit.

Trigger reacted to Bailey in Ellis Simms
Based on the little bits I have seen of him, I really don't think having Simms here would have made any difference to our performances.

Trigger reacted to RuffRob in Alex Iwobi
You just have to look at the MotM stats on this forum, since Lampard has taken over he is now nearing 200 votes, in half a seasons worth of games. That is a serious turn around in form for a player pretty much every one of us would have seen sold had any sort of reasonable offer come in. The new management have to get some serious brownie points for what getting the best out of Iwobi.

Trigger reacted to Zoo 2.0 in West Ham (Home) 18th Sept
I've said all season that we've defended very well but haven't got anything up front, today was no difference to be honest but fair play to Maupay for taking what was a very good half chance very well.
The win is somewhat overshadowed by the behaviour of our fans today though. Their actions during the minute's silence and during the 70th minute was appalling and embarrassing, regardless of how many were at it or if it may be the minority.

Trigger reacted to Fosse Captain in Summer 2022 Transfer Window
FM said ‘judge us at end of window’
To be fair I think FL & KT have done very well, some of the deals (as reported) seem incredible bits of business on face value.
We haven’t bought ageing players for stupid wages, we’ve moved out plenty of players, or at least tried to in some cases too.
Players in, on the whole, are of ‘a good age’ but everyone seems to have a particular set of traits too.
Willingness to work hard, and all appear to have good ‘characters’
An extra forward would’ve been great, but even that seems we were either waiting for Broja (?) or the alternatives didn’t tick enough boxes to make them viable.
So we passed and didn’t risk another Niasse, Sandro, Tosun et al
Next 2 games are shite, and not far a write off, BUT I’m feeling optimistic about the season now.
I’m also convinced we’ll go on a run after that, which bumps us up the table into the safe zone of mid-table obscurity.
Finally a transfer plan.
Finally proper due diligence.
Finally something to be excited about.

Trigger reacted to badaids in Leeds (Away) 30th August
Twice in two games he's set them up to defend a lead from half time, despite us being us clusterfucks. If we can all see it, why can't he. Sort it out Frank.

Trigger got a reaction from badaids in Leeds (Away) 30th August
Need to learn from the Brentford game now and not sit back and soak up their pressure for the next 45mins.
We have to keep the energy up and keep high pressing like we were for first 30mins of 1st half.

Trigger reacted to Btay in Mohammed Kudus
It’s the complete opposite to the transfer strategy we’ve used the last 5 years that got us in this mess. Try to buy these players before they become big money and at worst we should get some money back because they are young enough.

I think both goals yesterday show why we need Gueye (or similar style) in this team.

Trigger reacted to Bailey in Neal Maupay
We don't create enough chances as it is, so we cant afford a striker who wont finish the ones we do.

Trigger reacted to Btay in Chelsea (Home) 6th August
That’s a dive or a slip at best. Poor decision from the ref

Another awful call from Pawson, not a foul.
