Popular Post Romey 1878
My head is pounding and I literally cannot hear out of one of my ears but I feel so proud right now. That's pride in the fans and the players. Proper puff out your chest pride. Not once did we sit down in the Lower Gwladys and we sang and sang for those players. Then those players responded in kind and every single player gave everything they had from the first minute until the last minute. I can't fault any one of them for how they played today. It was a team effort from the players and the fans, it really was. We got behind them and they gave back, which drove us to give them even more and it grew and grew. That's how it should be. The first half was like a fucking whirlwind from us. We threw ourselves into everything and committed fully to it. It's that sort of energy that the fans can get behind in the stadium, we really do not ask for a lot from these players. I don't think anyone epitomised the first half showing than Anthony Gordon. What a player we've got in him - skillful and direct going forward, but he'll chase anything in defence and he'll put a foot in. I fucking love him. Second half was, not so much a struggle, but there was definitely a lessening of our intensity. We saw the game out well though in the end, and that's all you can ask. Get the job done as comfortably as possible. I want to pick out a couple of players for a special mention, and those two players are Alex Iwobi and Jonjoe Kenny. The pair of them have gotten a lot of stick by us fans but were both absolutely fantastic. Iwobi was fucking everywhere - you'd have been forgiven for thinking there may have been three of him on the pitch. He perhaps could have been more direct at times but his work rate was phenomenal and he was involved all over the pitch. JJK was playing as a bloody left-back and you never would have known he was out of position really. Defensively sound and got forward when he could and linked up well with those around him. Up and down that touchline from start to finish and you could tell how much getting the win today was going to mean to him. When we play like we did today it is so easy to love this football club. Do you know what? It's easy to love our manager as well. He speaks so well about this club - talking us up, praising the fans and players as often as possible, celebrating the goals like they matter (because they fucking do!), getting involved with the crowd during games. He understands that relationships need to be built and he's going the right way about it. I know it's early days but if we do stay up I am, again, cautiously optimistic about what next season could bring. Come. On. You. Fucking. Blues! Harv
Pleasantly surprised with Iwobi. Let's hope we are at long last going to get a return on our "investment ". Long may it continue.

We'll probably give him a new five year contract on the the back of today, and he'll go back to being shite; it's the Everton way. Now, the real test is can we keep those high standards at Southampton? We really could do with going on a bit of a run. And that won't be easy if you consider our upcoming fixtures. Sure we can, Dele will be arriving in approved Everton gear. Only joking, I got your original point though didn't totally agree. And yes I believe the players will have the confidence at Southampton. A bit different to the reporting when an Everton fan did it against Villa.
