Popular Post Newty82
I can see the frustrations around a certain player, sometimes with subs, and maybe some stubbornness. BUT... What a fuckin job he's doing. And, no, I'm not just saying this now. I said similar things repeatedly over time. He is exactly what we have needed after the last several years. Mostly, I enjoy watching us play. Then I look in disbelief at how little possession we have. Because it rarely feels that way. Let's be honest. The only thing that has stopped us from being 9 - 12 points better off is finishing. You guys have all said the good stuff already so I won't repeat it. The most pleasing thing I'm seeing though is the unity in the team. The way they celebrate together, throw themselves into tackles, clap each other, encourage. With that it's brought a much needed rekindling between fans and the players. This in itself is a massive win. I do agree that there MIGHT be a ceiling as to where he can take us but, in all honesty, with the ownership etc I think he'll take us beyond what we would have thought was realistic a year ago. We will progress with him though. London Blue, Romey 1878, StevO and 5 others 7

The fact that he will get us to a certain level which is fine and good and that if we want to aim for top 6 we need a different manager - or did we do that the other week? Happy to go over old ground if you want - which you do clearly? Shall we discuss his tendency to stick with certain players etc or shall we just enjoy the last couple of results? This also points out what a complete and utter disaster it was appointing Benitez as manager. If the line was extended back a year, I suspect we'd see that Ancelotti was steadily improving the team - but not at the same pace as Dyche. The score was not a reflection of the game. Neither, I should add, have we been lucky when winning games; we've deserved to win. We've not played poorly all season really, losing early games simply because we had no real striker available. Personally, I'm very upbeat right now. We'll be brought down to earth from time to time, but our overall trajectory is clear. Newty82, Matt, Matt Tiger and 2 others

You believe he can manage a top 6 side - he by his own admission stated that he has a certain remit. just enjoy the fact that we are keeping our heads above the chopping block and he’s doing a great job. It doesn’t mean we all have to invest in dyche ball for the next 10 years. I’ve already said that if he gets us consolidated and shows potential to expand tactically then I’ll hold my hands up. he’s very much like Moyes, and for where we are he’s ideal. I still struggle with alot of his decisions. Oh look Villa just beat Arsenal having already beat Man City….. pretty much the same team that Gerrard failed with.
