Fairly sure I’ve just watched two out of the three teams going down

Wolves were shite and still waltzed off with all the points

We have good players to come back we will be ok but the defence is still a problem I don’t know how we sort that.

I'm guessing that I've slipped into a parallel universe then, alarm bells are going off for me but it seems that most fans are cautiously optimistic (you made bastards ). I'm really concerned, the ''chances'' that we are creating aren't as good or frequent as people are making out. Doucoure came close with his header, forcing a world-class save from Sa, then there was Danjuma's offside chance and the VAR goal. I'm not saying that we were terrible, but it wasn't as though we were pinging their post every four seconds or gave their 'keeper a massive problem. I think it was just as likely that Wolves were going to win the game than us, a real basketball match which against a relegation rival is pretty concerning. Take off the Wolves shirts and replace them with City, Arsenal or Spurs for example - we'd be toast at half time.

Regardless of how well people think we have been playing, the facts are that we've scored zero goals and have zero points. It's not hard to see that this will be yet another long slog to May and everything points to us actually going this season. Luton will be right down there, but it'll be a battle against the other dross in this league to keep our heads above water. Morale looks terrible and our players skillsets are simply not good enough, we've replaced quality with shite so often that we're covered with turds all over the pitch. Turds that may well eventually flush.

We weren't second best, we weren't dominant. We were neck and neck with a Wolves side that are just as bad as us. Against anyone with a bit of quality and we'd be put to the sword much sooner than the 87th minute. The game against Sheffield United next week is fucking massive and I'm already dreading the home game against Luton!

Pickford: Not a terrible game from him, made a great save in the second half from close range but had that major brainfart when he and Tarkowski (?) left a ball for each other which let Fabio Silva waltz in on goal. Not too sure how he missed to be honest and a massive let off.

Young: Not too bad in terms of a defensive display, but on a few occasions I debated climbing down the stands from the Top Balcony to chin the stupid cunt for the piss poor set-pieces that he was shipping up. I think 100% of them ended up in the goalkeepers gloves and without much difficulty too. Wet fart crosses that was floated up without any venom at all. From a dead ball he was a real liability today and offered us fuck all.

Brainthwaite/Tarkowski/Pattison: Not bad from the other three mind, although without seeing it back I think James switches off for their winner. JB was exceptional and as I've mentioned in his thread gave me John Stones vibes. I'll be made up if we can keep him past this window and Dyche should have him down as the first name on the teamsheet. He's exactly the type of player we should be building our middle two around.

Onana: Much better than the clusterfuck that was Villa. Put himself about the did much better than his mate next to him.

Gueye: His turn for a clusterfuck, gave the ball away constantly. Halfway through the second half I was convinced that he'd actually become colour blind he was peppering orange shirts that much. Luckily, he didn't get punished but not a display that filled me with too much confidence.

Doucoure: Scored one, albeit offside and gave us the best chance of the game with his header from close range that forced an unbelievable save. I was actually pleased with Duke this week, he can hold his head up high.

Garner: He was alright, although I typed up my post and couldn't work out who I'd forgotten to include. Probably speaks volumes about his performance. Not shit, not great - a 5/10.

Danjuma: Crap tbh. He was offside anyway but really should have scored his chance in the first half and didn't really get into the game for me. A bit of an empty crisp packet floating around the field rather than actually being a threat in the final third. Gets bonus points though as him simply being fit meant that Maupay could stay on the bench.

Dobbin: Outstanding, ran his socks off for the first hour and should have had the full 90 IMO. Just needed that chance to get his goal but did everything right around the pitch. A real bright spark in what was a bit of a flat afternoon, hoping that Dyche plays him more and more as the season goes on and with some experience should be slotting some nice goals away for us.

Like who?

That’s pretty much our best back four, perhaps maybe bar Seamus who can’t be relied upon to play every week at his age

We have Harrison to come in on the wing which I’m sure will be an upgrade but apart from that who else is going to come in and make a difference?

DCL could possibly get ten minutes or so here and there but that was pretty much our strongest XI

You're definitely one of those people that vent your frustrations after the game at the steward. Now wash your mouth out with soap.

No I’m not actually, but what I won’t and never will let go is people trolling my posts with the disrespect you showed, so you will get from me what I consider a fair response, now fuck off 👍

Dropping Keane and Maupay made the difference today so I'm glad the fans have been shouting for that as if it was a silver bullet.

We went from missing chances at one end and conceding at the other end due to defensive frailties, to missing chances at one end and conceding at the other end due to defensive frailties.

The difference is there, honest.

I didn't have you down as the touchy sort . Don't be a bell.

I’m not normally but highlighting that part of my post which was not meant to be taken seriously, with loads of crying with laughter emojis hit a raw nerve with me. I can laugh a long with people at my own expense but that was disrespectful and I’d like to think I wouldn’t react that way to someone even if I thought they were serious, and if I did I would expect to be told to fuck off. So I’ll stop being bell and leave it at that.

When I said we have good players to come back I meant Harrison DCL McNeil Seamus that's why I said the defence is still a problem.

Dyche sounds like a man frustrated, and not just about today's game IMO.

I actually feel for him, bar the Villa game I cant really hold any blame towards him. Frustrating times but stick together everyone, I genuinely feel there is a result around the corner where these good chances & half chances stick.

The biggest concern I do have is that I expect Fulham and Wolves will be two of the worst sides we play at home and they have won both. I'm not convinced Luton will be any worse.

We just need to play the same.and have that 1 moment of luck. It'll lift the whole team and it'll kick on from there. The 2 home games have been positive performances mostly and it's just that bit of luck with either competent officials or a keeper having an off day. That's the difference between reality and 5th, luck.

Echo this, it’s frustrating & I hate losing - it ruins my weekend. There’s enough in the performances to see we can not only beat these teams but outplay them. Right now, as hard as it may be we have to be behind the team & Dyche.

Fuck the board though, absolute wankers that lot!

Takeaways:

Branthwaite must play over Keane.

Garner absolutely needs to take all dead ball situations over Young.

Dobbin is good enough.

Pickford was timid all day. Not sure what was going on. He had to come and collect their winner. Whipped in from way out directly into the 6yd box.

Beto better be decent or we’ll be trying to save our season on the last day again.

We obviously lack quality in the final third, but I think the effort was there, which after last week was the minimum required.

The result was disappointing, but if we continue to play like that, we will get better and our luck will change.

But it can't be that we have one match where we create but fail to take our chances, then one week where we fail to turn up. There needs to be a consistency in the level of performance.

The young lads did ok. Branthwaite did enough to bench Keane for the foreseeable. Dobbin was ok. Chermiti had a good cameo.

We'll need luck to be on our side with injuries this season cos the squad depth is not there.

There is a element of luck required for sure, they say that hard work creates the luck you need to succeed, and there can be no doubt that we worked hard and for that hard work we were lucky enough to create enough chances to win the game, so for me we’ve had plenty of luck in both our home games but we lack the quality to turn our luck into goals. As in any business luck will only take you so far then it’s down to abilities to transcend that luck into success. We need a proven goal scorer or 2 who on a regular basis can turn our luck into goals otherwise we face another season of what some call unlucky but in reality just not good enough.

Doucoures chance did create a great save.

But the fat that he tried to hit in with his chin instead of just heading it, or getting his foot on it is why it was able to be saved. The save is taking away from the fact that it was an absolute sitter. Embarrassing effort.

Tarks chance. Another simple put it on target as the goalkeeper is already on the floor. Your two yards out… it’s basics.

Garners shot.
His name sounds the same as Gana, and he shoot’s just like him. Right in front of goal and he tries instead to knock one of our players out. Luckily for him it hit young or it was flying well wide!

When looking at chances, don’t just look at efforts on goal, look at the times where we had the ball and should have taken a chance as well.
