No it shouldn't. I constantly hear how these players have seen off 5 or 6 managers and then you read this article that those same players then want the next manager to be someone that's their fucking friend. What a surprise!
May as well have just kept the sangria swiller and saved on the compo because going with him until the end of the season would be disastrous.
I can't be fucking arsed with this club. You've got the romantic dick head, Kenwright, wanting to bring back Roberto fucking Martinez. The loaded buffoon, Moshiri, clearly still has starry eyes and his lunacy is all over the talk of Mourinho being under consideration. And then this stupid shit about the players thinking they should have a fucking say.
I wish they'd all go off somewhere and fuck each other instead of fucking Everton because I'm done with them all.

Not seen this before, maybe lots have...
"Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility. I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else."
Current opinion? Nope....his housemaster at Eton in 1982.

I do agree that what the club needs now is a uniting force, someone who's going to reunite the fanbase, and get us all pulling in the same direction again. More division and toxicity is the last thing we need. And he probably would be someone who could do that - even if it eventually goes tits up.
Having said that, there's a part of me that thinks he should stay at Derby. I do think he'll pull it off and keep them up. And what'll that do, not only for his legacy and his standing as a manager, but the experience of going through that quadmire they are in, and being successful, will only stand him in good stead for the future. That kind of experience is priceless. The Everton job will always be there for him, whenever there's a change of manager, his name's always gonna be in the mix, and he's still only a young manager.
But then again, who knows if they'll pull through. And if him pulling it off just means we get to play them twice next year - well fuck that shit! 😂

I agree, it's a shitshow. But the fact is, Moshiri's going nowhere, so we might as well get a new stadium out of it.
What we need in the meantime is someone who's gonna put their foot down, or at least someone who can get in his ear and put him right. Ideally, he just signs the checks and puts the proper people in place to make the right decisions; ie. a DoF who has a long term plan and proper control.

Someone on Twitter suggested Emma Hayes who's just won FIFA'S female coach of the year award with Chelsea Women and one of the replies was "Why not, she's used to taking charge in a dressing room full of fannies." Made me chuckle.

A thought....if we were to bring Rooney in, considering his character, his history and his knowledge and love of the club (and its history), would he be the kind of person we need to put right the wrongs that are apparently going on behind the scenes? Would he be the one to be able to put his foot down and begin to steer this ship in the right direction, or is still too early in his managerial career?

I’d like to see Duncan leave and go and be a manager somewhere else, learn his trade and grow into a good manager then come back.

I've been for giving him a chance, but there has been absolutely no improvement in performances. Yes, players are making mistakes, but so often we shoot ourselves in the foot by starting so badly - the manager at least has to take responsibility for getting the players fired up and ready for the game - but it seems that we consistently start so badly, that we have to wait untl the 2nd half to actually get going.
The question is though - what do we do now. We've got rid of the DoF, given Rafa free reign and laid out the money to bring in who he wants, and now we bring someone else in who is gonna have a completely different idea of who he wants. On top of that, there is apparently a full review in progress, so it seems that the only option would be to bring someone in till the end of the season (a Sam Allardyce type figure to save us from relegation).
The shit we are in is too mindblowing to even contemplate.
The results and (even more so the performances) are not up to par - by a long shot.  In any other situation, he'd have been gone before Xmas.
I believe there are only two choices:
1 - give him till the end of the month/mid february, to bring in another 1-2 players (as it seems that is what he wants), and see if results start to turn around. (The risk being, it may well be too late by then to salvage relegation)
2 - get rid, and bring in/put someone in charge someone till the end of the season.
At this moment in time, I actually think option 2 is the only option left.
The sad thing is, it's more new players in (and good players moved out) all for nothing.
    What a shambles!

The reason some people will back him is that the same group of players have got a few managers sacked and made the best manager in recent years look like Mike walker.

let’s not pretend a new manager sorts this mess out. This team is full of disgraceful charlatans. They could get Pep sacked.

I have to say that in my opinion there's a huge problem with the playing staff. The attitude, the lack of belief, lack of commitment, lack of desire, lack of quality have been evident for years now, and is our constant recurring problem. Everton are dire to watch, a horrible team to support right now, and I don't see that changing any time soon - and another change of manager will certainly not help things. We might see a sudden peak in form as a result of someone new coming in - but we'd be back to playing the same old shite after a couple of months. So what's the point?
I do believe that Rafa is the kind of manager that, given time and resources, could build a really decent competitive team. But that ain't gonna happen over night, because we have to get shut of so much shite. I don't have any hope that we will be in any way competitive for the next 2-3 years at least, whoever is in charge. You have to think who would have the desire and ability to able to turn this club around, to invest several years in the project and be in it for the long haul. I think Rafa fits that bill, whatever people may wanna say about his previous associations.
We don't need your Mourinho's, or your Ancelotti's or even someone like Simeone. We need a manager who is able to rebuild from the ground up. Moreover, I don't think you can lay all the blame on the manager when the players themselves keep reverting to the same uncommitted, desireless, rank, weak performances. The manager can only do so much, it's the players that have to respond and put in the performance, and too often we just don't see that.

He replaced a player who is exactly the same, Gray... Head down keep running till your surrounded by defenders then lose the ball.  Fookin useless.  Considering that the people who run this club are supposed to be top business men and women We have so much dead wood to get rid off its unbelievable how we got into this mess.

But the equivalent of this would be someone showing the table after the first 5 games and saying "See? Rafa should have a free pass and stay for however long he wants."
You can't take a snapshot of a season and use it as evidence of the season as a whole. Yes we are playing drab, defensive football right now with no real intentions going forward. But were we playing that way at the beginning of the season when we had a full squad? Absolutely not.
Have to say again, I will continue to stand behind Rafa, if only because I'm sick and fucking tired of the coaching carousel at the club.

"We know his strengths," Benitez said. "He's a player with a really good left foot. We know the weaknesses that he has too. He has to show his strengths on the pitch and at the same time improve his weaknesses.
"I don't expect him to change his style, but we need to find a balance between what he can give to the team and what we are expecting from him.”
Perfectly put.   Rafa is like a teacher trying to get a response from a lazy but talented pupil.  The previous teacher allowed him to stare out the window as long as he did a few paragraphs of quality.... This teacher wants a full lessons worth.
Its not unreasonable to say that James Rodriguez is one of the best passers of a football in the world.  Certainly the best passer of a slide rule ball in the game imo.    So that being said, why haven't top teams come in for him?
Is it that Rafa isn't on his own in thinking that for all his potential game changing quality - it's not enough to sacrifice a balanced team for?  I'd say so.

I will say this. I've supported Everton for over 25 years.
At the beginning, we won the FA Cup and it was brilliant. Since then the Moyes era stands out. Outside the top 4 as it was then, we were pretty consistent in being the best of the rest. I was proud of them team then, competing on our shoestrings.
Since then we've lost our way a lot, despite the investment.
Also, in my time supporting Everton, managers have come, managers have gone, players have come and gone, some have stayed in our hearts and some have been forgotten. But Everton FC remains. A club with a rich history, a club that has been at the top table pretty much more than everyone, a club that 100% will have its glory days back.
And no matter who's on the pitch, who's on the bench or who's in the dugout, as long as they give their all for the badge, we'll be behind them.
And if they fail or if they succeed, it'll still be Everton I support.
