Hafnia
really? fuck me Yep, crazy that lot. They have left Nasri at home for this world cup - funny in a way because he's an odious little sod, but no doubting he should be there.
Kant
Solid reliable players that know the game and his role like Distin can always be the number 23 in the WC squad. Unfortunately for him, Abidal was also doing the same role and he was also left out. Oh, the French...

thoward18
My first thought was, "holy shit, how the hell did Distin NEVER get a cap? Like, not even one friendly."Then I remembered what a directionless disaster the French National Team has been for a while now.
Hafnia
and taken Sissohko instead Think Deschamps is being a bit "moysie-ish" - being a hard working, lesser talented player the likes of Nasri must infuriate him. Then again, he captained France to two major championships so who I am I to say that... but you know what I mean

Then again, he captained France to two major championships so who I am I to say that... but you know what I mean France have always had talented players but they are so egotastic they tend to implode. In 2008 they were an absolute mess, this time they tried to assemble a group, a team, with clear roles for the players and less egos. For the record, Nasri sabotaged Laurent Blanc and confronted three journalists in 2008, and has barely featured since then for Les Bleus. Hodgson has done the same with Cole in England, I assume some players are not ready to accept they belong to the bench.

bluenosetoffee
Sakho or Distin? What the hell is the French manager thinking... I know which one I would trust more in defense. Distin has been solid this season and Sakho.....WTF!?
pete0
Sakho or Distin? What the hell is the French manager thinking... Distin's main competition for a place included Mexes and Boumsong who have over 50 caps between them. God knows what the French don't like about Distin. Matt
Sakho or Distin? What the hell is the French manager thinking... can only assume Sakho goes as some sort of comic relief. Or moral booster, so the team know they can never be that bad....
Gwlad
Rather he stays home and charges his batteries for next season than go to Brazil and pick up an injury, we'll need him in Europe (how great does that sound?)! Europe.

Seems unprofessional not to train while "he's taking some time" though. Edited October 6, 2014 by Romey 1878
chicagoblue
Not trained in 10 days!? If true that is flabbergasting. Speaks to something deeper amiss with the squad.
MC11
So Martinez has singled Distin out.... What about the Fukin captain. Obviously I don't know what's gone on but Distin was far from the problem. So we now have unrest in the dressing room. Great. Super Martinez

Big pinch of salt for me, if he's been told to "take some time out" why was he at OT yesterday? Bailey

Obviously I don't know what's gone on but Distin was far from the problem. So we now have unrest in the dressing room. Great. Super Martinez To be fair, the report did say Distin was "amongst those singled out" so we don't know if Jags was or wasn't. DIstin's reaction is a bit shocking, he's always acted very professionally. The defense started this season horribly so I don't mind Martinez giving them a talking. People say they get upset that Martinez is always "positive" but sometimes people need to be called out on being out of form.
MC11
Distin has always been an unstable personality. Just look at his twitter account! If he's been singled out it's unfair for me. He wasn't half as bad a Jagielka. Bad man management.
MikeO
Bad man management. Pure speculation. You haven't got the vaguest idea what the situation really is so you're not in a position to know how it was handled (if "it" actually exists at all). If the reports are true it's my opinion it's bad man management. Not only has he dropped one of our main players he's caused unrest in the dressing room. Jagielka was a lot worse than Distin. Hoof_It_Nev
Chill out guys. Jeez, I'd hate to be in the media these days. People badmouthing you and judging you based on pure speculation. Any sports website has to fill their site with something - could be something in it but who knows? Take everything you read with a pinch of salt...
