Elston Gunnn
On US TV just now they were saying he picked up a little niggle. Hamstring, I think they said. End of this article says hamstring, will be rested 7-10 days. No Stoke. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/feb/04/steve-mcclaren-unacceptable-newcastle-everton-premier-league

MC11
Increase in wages would be ridiculous what a stupid story. Would take Navas in a heartbeat.
TacticalSuicide
Stones is Everton's most overrated player by a long mile and probably one of the most overrated in all of football, I hope England pick him in the national team so they can fail as per normal. By far our worst performer in the back 4, puts stupendous amounts of pressure on the players around him rather then relieving pressure, he is a liability to players around him. If Tim Howard wasn't on the team to take the blame for every loss and goal scored, John Stones be the scapegoat. His potential has been blown so far out of proportion, should sell him to the highest bidder before everyone realizes how awful he actually is. MC11
I agree been saying it for months. He's caused us a lot if problems with his messing. Don't get me wrong he's talented... But he's also a major liability.
Bill
But his value is going down the longer he's not selected, catch 22 situation.

Makis
I started a thread in the rumours section which was apparently deleted (why does the Jagielka thread survive then?). But in principle this sort of thing could be good. These deals just never happen, and in this instance there are actually two issues: Navas is 30 and Martinez just spent 13,5 million on a striker so we'd have three expensive strikers next season, assuming Lukaku stays. dlblue
I'd Take £30m plus Bony, i think that would be a great deal for us tbh. I wouldn't want Navas or Managala.

Hafnia
Clearly it was Moyes's way of trying to lay further claim to the purchase of Stones - probably feels a bit wounded at the moment and is citing some great bargain work to pad up his C.V. I actually thought is was disrespectful to do that. Matt

Hafnia
In any other business, he'd be sued for violating an NDA. Someone made a great point about this before - Moyes agreed to join Man United in December 2012. BK will have known this - BK will have had his next man lined up. That next man was Roberto Martinez who was in the process of trying to buy him. Was he Robertos boy all along???
msloan78
Cloak and dagger skullduggery... Wouldn't be hugely surprised although wouldn't that put us in the shit if we we're courting Martinez before an agreement with Wigan was reached? Lowensda
Like Dier, it could work. Would relieve some pressure on him to do "old school" defending. Allow him to progress his natural game. Matt and brittoncarl

Shukes
Don't think he has the vision. When people spoke about Baines I could see it. Baines has the vision and ability to split a defense, as he does. I can't imagine Stones doing that as he isn't an attack minded player. Cornish Steve
Why would an England manager, with hundreds of options available, choose to play someone in a position with which they are unfamiliar? It sounds nuts to me.
