markjazzbassist
Out until the new year. "Maarten will be doubtful for Boxing Day," he said. "James is out. It’s a slight hamstring injury and that’s bad news because the boy was doing well. I’m a little bit worried about how many of this kind of injuries [he has had]. He will be out for two or three weeks."

Shy_Talk
Wonder if the recent addition(s) might signal his eventual move up to Celtic. We've made do with blooding Davies recently in his prolonged absence, he continues to pick country before club, and it would bookend the former regime if he, Robles and Kone were shipped out wholesale to underline just how amateur and fraudulent the manager that relegated them at Wigan was. Granted, fresh legs and options from the bench would be markedly welcomed, but we wont get a fee for Barry, Davies is ours to run the rule over, I've just pointed out elsewhere that theres Barkley to fit in, so McCarthy seems a viable option to allow to be sold to recoup a few quid. MC11
He's injury prone so won't be worth much
StevO
No pressure to get him fit if the other lads can stay fit. Don't want us to sell him, won't get enough money to make it worthwhile so might as well just keep him.
Finn balor
I think unfortunately Macca will be like he is permanently. A run of a few games and a few off with his hamstrings. I think if we sold him there will be a lot of clubs vying for his signature. What did Allen go to stoke for? £15 mill? I think he will be in the ball park

markjazzbassist
Glad to see him back and play and not get hurt. Would like more cameos like that to get back to fitness. Great to have 2 centre mids run all day and then be able to sub in schneiderlin and McCarthy.
markjazzbassist
odds to 2/1 to move to Newcastle now. not sure if they're just trying to line their pockets but his healthy cameo could have been putting him in the shop window to other teams. i'd love to sell him and get a decent fee before he hits the physio table again. Sibdane
I would like to keep him. His fitness will be in question, but I'm still holding out hope he'll come through. He adds some industrious movement to the midfield that we need.
Romey 1878
Koeman has already said he will definitely not be leaving in January but that the summer is a possibility.
dlblue
I suppose it comes down to the player also, i cant imagine he will be happy sitting on the bench when he could be a starter elsewhere. Surely cant let him go in Jan though with Gana away and Schneiderlin not fully match fit.

You're forgetting we got rid of Martinez who would let any player go if they were unhappy even if it meant leaving us short.
Aidan
Koeman seems to like him. He must have shown in training the player he was under martinez in his 1st season here. Plus when he played just before he was injured he showed exactly the player he can be. Aggressive, a great tackler and so energetic. Get him fit and he could push for a starting place. StevO
Could we play a diamond in games against tough opposition? ----------------Gana--------------- McCarthy----------Schneiderlin ---------------Barkley-------------- ---------------Lukaku-------------- With the wing backs pushing on, if we needed legs in midfield, them three could cover some serious ground. I know it's not the most attacking formation, I wouldn't want to see it every week, but could be an option.

Paddock
On Twitter that Theevertonforum are convinced he'll be sold this window. We are well stocked there now to be fair I'd put Gana, Davies and Schneiderlin in front of him then there's Barry, with McCarthy that's 5 good cdms we have.
