Hafnia
I can agree with the Neville bashing but Moyes is a better manager than you give him credit for. I think moyes is the manager I give credit for. Paid in excess of £50m to provide mid to 7th place finishes on a 7th to 8th salary budget. pete0

I'm glad Moyes is gone, but you can't say Moyes only provided mid to 7th place finishes when we finished 4th once and 5th & 6th on a couple of occasions. I get your point, but you really don't give him enough credit. markjazzbassist, MC11, Toffee_in_LA and 1 other

Despite which he lacked the real bottle to win something. He did his "rescue act" dined out on being the best team outside of the top 5-6 and ended up being a richly paid failure when finally held accountable for having a goal bigger than "just the usual please David". As a manager he was alright.
Romey 1878
Apparently his wage demands are a stumbling block. They can only stretch to 1.5m a year.

Ha ha the expatations will be a bit higher than the ones he got £3.9m a year off us for.
markjazzbassist
Wow, he has plenty of money, you'd think he would just want to get back in the game to do what he loves and to improve his name and get back to a decent club. At least I would. I'd coach for free and get them Europa or something and then move on to the next suitor
Guest millwallforever
Looks to me like Pearce has lost the plot at Forest. He was always going to be the wrong appointment. I wouldn't be surprised if Moyes ended up as Forest's next manager.

Yes, but we are talking about Forest here; one of the finest clubs in England.
Romey 1878
Looks to me like Pearce has lost the plot at Forest. He was always going to be the wrong appointment. Agreed. Pearce is a very poor manager. I was surprised when he got off to a flyer with them, but normal service has been resumed and I'm sure he'll be out of work again very soon.u Edited November 6, 2014 by Romey 1878
Hafnia
Never really got Pearce as a manager. Probably a good number 2 maybe but certainly not manager. Romey 1878

He should stay in England. Being sacked a second time will surely hurt his career a lot. Edited November 9, 2014 by millwallforever
Newty82
On one hand I think he should jump at it. Sounds like they have a good squad. It would be a good chapter for Moyes to go at it again. On the other hand, I'm not sure about the whole culture, language, style of play, philosophy. It niggles me for some reason. Newty82
He's only gone and got it! Although I was fed up with him for the last 2-3 years he was here, it had to be acknowledged that he did a great job here. Good luck to him. I hope he does well. Guest millwallforever
Confirmed as Sociedad's new manager according to the beeb; be interesting to watch. Are they not second from bottom? I wish him all the best. He's a brave man; we'll see how long he lasts. I suspect that Tim Cahill might get a role in some capacity at the club as well. Cornish Steve
Time will tell, but I do find this a strange one. From Moyes' perspective, though, it must have its attractions: proving that he can take a team near the bottom, have them survive, and then make them a difficult team to beat. It's probably the best path back to a decent job in the English Prem.
markjazzbassist
I'm happy for him. They have a great squad and he should keep them up there. I actually think the style of football he plays will work well with the tiki taka over there. Park the bus and counter attack has done us in plenty of times this season and last. I'm sure after a couple good seasons he will be at Spurs, Newcastle or the bundeliga.
Romey 1878
Be interesting to see how his style of football goes down with their fans. There's no doubt there'll be no attractive football while he tries to keep them up, which is what is needed, but their fans may not be patient enough. Get the sun screen bought, Davie! Hafnia
After watching his teams against the likes of Benfica and Valencia - blood and guts and adrenaline will not be enough. He needs to learn an expansive game or he will fail, simple as that.
