Bailey
In fairness to Baines he has just come back from injury. He looked back to his best at the start of the season. He has always been a player that needs games to get him back to 100%

Romey 1878
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/dec/15/everton-leighton-baines-new-deal Done. Along with Barry and Holgate.
Hafnia
Retirement contracts. Bit of a goodwill gesture there. Don't have a problem with it. Potentially very good backroom staff. I do fear baines legs have gone though.
Matt
Barry gets another 2 years?? Good to see them all extending their stay, shows Koeman doesn't want to just strip the squad to nothing and rebuild
markjazzbassist
Sounds great. I think Barry gets one year Matt, end of next campaign and he's done. I'm guessing next year he will be more of a player/manager than full time player. Baines has been injured a lot and if he can recover and get back to his best we should be good at LB. holgate was a no brainer
Aidan
He's just coming back from injury! Not so long ago he was the best left back in the league!
StevO
Me too Patto. He looks to be back at 100%, we've seen in the past after big injuries it's taken Baines a while to be fully fit. When he is at his best no one else comes close.
Bailey
He is always at his best when we are on the front foot so it's probably not a surprise that he hasn't been as good as we expect him to be. The Arsenal game showed he still has it in him though!
markjazzbassist
Howard is what brought me to Everton and baines is what kept me here. One of my all time favorites I've loved watching him bomb the flank
Shukes
Just love watching him make football look easy.

Paddock
The lad next to me said he looked like he was trying to do Moyes a favour ? ? He just looked chokka like he badly wished he wasn't playing. Maybe he was ill or something.
markjazzbassist
Did anyone else think he looked lethargic yesterday almost like he wished he was somewhere else? He's looked slower than usual lately. I think a lot of it is lookman doesn't bomb the flank and link up with him like mirallas or pienaar did, mola just goes inside every time so it negates baines. Then when he does get the ball no one is out there with him to attack or link.
Bailey
I thought he did well enough. Could have had a couple of assists on another day. He did take a fee heavy challenges as well and after the 3rd or 4th he was a bit more subdued.
pete0
We played down the right with Lookman not having a great day. Think Baines done what was asked from him.

markjazzbassist
Koeman said he'll be fine for next week. phew, we can breathe a sigh of relief. it does highlight how we need to strengthen that position in the summer.
Shy_Talk
A back injury, my read on that is it occured in training and Baines soldiered on, hence why Mori was benched and Jags came in because Koeman had a concern for Baines for the 90. I don't know if Garbutt is injured, but he wasn't even on the bench for wigan yesterday (oddly enough a certain stephen warnock is LB and captain for them) wigan are 23rd in the championship and look like going down a division. Garbutt was on loan the season before at Fulham but they have their stock in 16 year old superstarlet Ryan Sessegnon who I doubt will be at Fulham past the opening day of the transfer window. Baines aint done, but it's time to start to plan properly for the future, lets see Walsh and Ko earn their corn.

gethinO
I though Garbutt was back from his loan already? This. However I haven't heard anything official about it and he hasn't featured for the U23s either so who knows.
plaidharper
Garbutt is back from loan. Just m.i.a. Very odd that he hasn't even made the u23 bench. Rhino must rate Antonee Robinson over him.

MC11
Amazing signing and still doing a decent enough job. He just goes about his game quietly nowadays.

Shukes
One of my favourite players for years. Love the way he goes about his game, even now. Makes the game look so easy. Rarely gives the ball away. Even when being tackled he seems to be able to get a pass away. Great attitude as well.
