The number of times the ball was knocked up to him and rather than challenge for the ball he tried to roll the defender in the hope he missed it was infuriating He looks very low on confidence and reminded me a lot of Jelavic in his bad days Jelavic? Oh Lordy now I am worried!!
markjazzbassist
at this rate i think he will be sold in january or this summer. i just don't think he fits silva's style of play.
Finn balor
I was thinking that. Wilth Henry and vlasic coming back next summer I think he will be looking to have a front four that can all score rather than just one which I agree with. Like the shite they can all interchange positionally. Was it fenerbache we got him from? Maybe they can afford him markjazzbassist and Btay
Btay
I wouldn’t think of selling just yet. There’s been plenty times the final ball hasn’t gotten to him when it really should have. Could have 3/4 goals to his game this season in my opinion. Matt, StevO and Quinn31
London Blue
He is desperately short of confidence, if he can get back in the team and get a run of scoring goals then great. If he has not done this by the end of the season he should go.

As he is German-born, maybe some German clubs can be interested though. markjazzbassist

Popular Post Quinn31
I think he will kick on - would be ludicrous to sell him in January when DCL and Niasse are the alternative number 9s and Cenk has shown something here, if not consistently. Klaassen wasn't even getting into matchday squads.. tchicky, EFC-Paul, StevO and 3 others
Sir McGiven
1 hour ago, markjazzbassist said: Good thought, klaassen is doing well there maybe Cenk will too. Premier League is something different. Cenk is still a good player and can do a lot better than this in a more posession based team but neither Sam’s nor Silva’s tactical approach is suitable for him. It’s his bad luck that the manager who bought him was a huge joke and his replacement’s tactics doesn’t suit him. I will not be suprised anymore if he is getting sold and doing great again in another club. This league and this year’s bad form has damaged his confidence, no question. He was dominating Champions League last 2 years at Besiktas (not comparing him to Messi or Ronaldo’s goalscoring of course) and now he has just lost his place at Everton. It should be hard for him. Still, he was the one who said “EPL is my dream and I don’t wanna miss this offer” then left Besiktas in January for Everton. We struggled after him, dropped all the way to 4th place... He gave his everything for us and just because of that we loved him and there were no bad feelings when he was leaving. As he wanted to come here that badly, he should have worked harder than this. He didn’t to be fair and deserves to be benched for a long time until he is ready (If he can ever be) But some Everton fans are really biased and blinkered about him. He is still a good striker. If a player is not good at Everton it doesn’t mean he is shit or vice versa.
markjazzbassist
I think he’s great honestly I do, I just think he’s not a good fit for Silva style. I think in the right system he’s banging in at least 10 goals in he premier league, Germany probably 15. Sadly he doesn’t have a lot of pace and that seems to be Silva’s thing. Popular Post Matt
Would be a big mistake to let him go. Just needs a decent run and he'll get back to banging them in, the guys finishing is exceptional, not to mention his holdup play and work rate. badaids
I love Cenk. He’s got everything I think, bit of pace, strong, hard working, skilful and can finish, but it’s not clicked for him yet. Every game I think; this is when it’ll come together for him. I can’t work out why he hasn’t fit into the team yet, but I still think he can come good. Matt and Sir McGiven
Aidan
Had to fight his way into the squad in Turkey. Now he is having to do it again. Cenk seems to thrive off compeition and hopefully the goal off the bench today will kick him into gear. markjazzbassist and nutmegwolf203
Hafnia
You just can't knock the lad. What a top character he is. Seemed to grow after his goal. I loved the way he dumped Zaha on his arse. aaron, Quinn31 and nutmegwolf203

nutmegwolf203
He did everything right for the goal. Touch with his left that set up the hit with his right. He's a great striker and I agree; he thrives off competition. Also, congrats on the baby!

Finn balor
I don’t think so. He’s a great finisher. He’s fired between the legs of the keeper MikeO, sacitunal and nutmegwolf203
Sir McGiven
Good first touch, OK finishing strike. I do agree with Bailey, a better keeper could have easily saved it. Still, it will be a great confidence boost for him. Glad the boy scored one by his standards.
Shukes
Or if the keeper didn’t have his legs open...... he might have shot across the keeper. Though it was a great touch, good pace and a solid shot for the finish. Romey 1878 and MikeO
Hafnia
2 hours ago, Bailey said: A decent keeper saves it IMO. It's a great finish as from that angle it's the smart option. Keeper will save easy to the near post as his left leg is covering that. The far post is a dive of his right foot.... the middle of his legs is a difficult cover. Fact is, it was a half decent keeper and he got mugged. End of subject.... Good goal, good run, good control, good composure..... If Richarlson would be scored that right now, everybody would be creaming in their pants.

Romey 1878
The way I look at it is he’s not high on confidence at the moment and he had a hell of a lot of time to think about what he was going to do with that chance. So I think it was a fantastic finish myself. I don’t care about what the keeper did. London Blue, MikeO and StevO
