Maybe the Iwobi fee would give us more firepower, but I wonder whether any funds we would need to access could be freed up so quickly after his departure? I very much doubt there's a shred of truth in the Cornet stuff. Sulemana is loan with the option to buy next summer if the rumours are to be believed. Gnonto has always been a permanent. It all depends on how the selling clubs let us structure deals, but selling Iwobi will give us more to play with.

Palfy
If this happens it will be a great piece of business, he doesn’t want to stay so we have to get the max we can for him and get any negativity out of the team, otherwise he’s here till January and his price drops like a stone. I’ve no doubt we will miss what he offers to the team but others will have the opportunity to fill his spot, and I honestly don’t want players around the club who have made it known they don’t want to be here. Zoo 2.0
I don't think Iwobi is as bad as people make out, but I wouldn't be gutted with him leaving. barryj
£20+mil is an unbelievable and amazing deal. I never thought we’d get anywhere near that amount with 10 months left. I won’t believe it till it happens. Wonder what happened to all those Champions League clubs that Iwobi assumed he could play for? duncanmckenzieismagic
No doubting it’s a good deal for us under the circumstances but this move definitely weakens the squad, especially if there are no further additions Sibdane

We've got plenty of people who can misplace 5 yard balls, over play the final pass or run into dead ends whilst covering a lot of ground. Again, I still like him as a player, honest! Shame he had his best patch when there was no one in front of him, but he also had 4 years of far below his ability too.
Fosse Captain
Stats are mad aren't they. Watching a player like Iwobi, there is no way I'd ever have put him as more creative then a Maddison type player, or even most on that list Matt

I didn’t really watch him at Arsenal tbh so can only go by what I’ve seen in an Everton shirt and yeah his first 2 seasons were poor but I think he has been one of our best and most consistent players since then

Think you're being generous with only 2 seasons but yeah, he's certainly been on of the more consistent. His consistent is still not good enough vs his ability though. If he didn't have 10 months left on his contract, I wouldn't be for this at all. For £22m in the last months of his contract and refusing to sign another, he gets a thanks and bye bye from me, and a good luck in future too Gwlad, Shukes and KinL

It was always interesting to me when our players were asked about our most skilled guy in training. He was mentioned often. He was played out of position for a while when he came here. Did some good things when played through the middle. Never got to the price we paid maybe but it shouldn’t surprise anyone if he is missed. Think he played some of his best football under Lampard the season before last and was again one of our best players last season. I’ve not looked but I would imagine he has figured quite prominently in the MOtM votes on here for the past 2 seasons Even if you ignore his stats I think with a squad as small as ours we will miss his versatility as well Agree it’s a no brainier to accept the bud under the circumstances but we will miss him Matt
