Romey 1878
I wonder how those other star CB's we have are doing. Matty Foulds? Pennington? Browning (I fear he's not got what it takes so this is more rhetorical)? Connoly? Connolly's a RB. Pennington though, I like a lot and if he's not going out on loan I'd be happy for him to be one of our CB's.

Romey 1878
wasn't foulds already playing league 1? wonder if he will come good or be another Martinez bust. I think it was only a handful games but I'm not sure. Definitely wouldn't be looking to him as an option in any case. Pennington is the much better option - he's had loan spells at a few clubs and has played a few games at PL level as well. So, like I said, unless we send him out on loan, I'd give him a crack. plaidharper
Didn't Pennington just come back from an injury? And wasn't Browning hurt earlier this season? Might be options but probably both need more time.
Shukes
Browning is another Duffy unfortunately. Good championship player but not a premier player by a mile. Romey 1878

markjazzbassist
http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/01/30/jagielka-staying-with-blues I'm fine with that. We've gotten rid of so much of the dead wood, jags is the best of the dead wood in my opinion so he can stay and mentor the lads

markjazzbassist
How did he do today? Worth starting him again do you think? did well, but honestly wasn't really tested. they had some set pieces (he did well) but bar that it was just a light day at the office. Baines was injured and Mori replaced him so I could see us going to 3 at the back for Hull if Baines is still out. More likely holgate comes back (unless he wants Jags Williams Mori instead). Romey 1878
How did he do today? Worth starting him again do you think? Very solid. And there were very few aimless long balls from him, he benefited massively from having a willing receiver in Schneiderlin.

Sibdane
Jags is one of the good guys -- hate to see the time when he's no longer a viable option (even on the bench). Model professional. Edited April 19, 2017 by TonkaRoost
markjazzbassist
http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/04/18/jags-lucky-boots Quality fella, if nothing else. i always enjoy the interviews because you can tell he doesn't take himself too seriously. he always deflects praise with some comedic touch, like the goals comments or talking about the hard time the guys in the dressing room give him. London Blue
He has been a quality player for us, and a great captain. Even when he was out of the team he just got on with it. Great ambassador for the club he does allot with Everton in the Community. Top guy.

Aidan
Had a great end to the season that made me forget about his poor start. Still got it and will look better next to someone who can run.
Bailey
He did a job last year but I don't think you can say he did more than that.
Shukes
Everton app just notified me he signed a one year deal Good to see the club looking after what we have as well as being gong in new. Good move for a position we are short in. As we saw second half of last season, his experience is invaluable. Matt and MikeO
Palfy
He had a wobble early in season, but when he got his place back looked better than Williams, and for that reason I think him and Keane would be the better pairing.
Romey 1878
He's better than Williams and should be ahead of him in the pecking order.
markjazzbassist
its obvious from koeman's comments that he likes phil for 2 reasons: natural leader, and fitness levels. seems he likes him as a captain and the guy is always in shape (which phil eludes to in working hard in the offseason to be at peak fitness). phil states that he is ready to help no matter the role. that is key. he knows he's not a guaranteed starter but is willing to be on the bench and play cup matches, we need players like that.
