Bailey
I actually thought he did ok in the circumstances today. He was more or less a 1 man midfield until Davies came on I while he wasnt perfect he was given no chance by his manager.

I agree also, poor first half ( and everyone else ) better in 2nd half, a few decent tackles and moved the ball forward, but still too much jogging around aimlessly. And that's "doing OK" for Everton while being paid more in a week than most of us earn in a year is it? I could happily jog around aimlessly for 10% of his wage and live the life of Riley on it. barryj
I thought Davies did more in his short spell than Morgan did the entirety of the match. plaidharper

At times in the game, I was watching him, and he was mostly walking. plaidharper

I agree based on the team's performance he was no worse than most of them, and if he hadn't been there the outcome and result would have been the same. Chach
Technically this thread could be moved to General, can't remember the last time he played any football for us. Would be happy to see him go on a free.
Popular Post Hafnia
For the majority of the season gana gets continuous shit cos he isn'tt much more than an average footballer with a game set to seek and destroy and win the ball. Schneiderlein has one game where he elevates himself from "not giving a shit and being piss poor" to "being no worse than the rest of the shit" and it's supposedly alright. One player cost £8m and gives 100%.... the other player cost over £20m and wslked out of training amd laughed at us getting beat by atalanta. markjazzbassist, Chach, nogs and 3 others
Paddock
I’m not defending him but it doesn’t help when all the players in front are playing musical statues. StevO

I'm not saying he deserves a place over Gana by any shape or form, what I meant was that he was marginally better than he has been for most of this season, he played the ball forward more then sideways, and made a coup,e of tackles, which he has failed to do all season. He clearly is comfortable with himself playing that way for Everton. I'm not and he can be moved on in the summer, he had an opportunity yesterday to show some desire and failed in that respect. Bailey
He was much much better yesterday. He is very much like Keane in a 1 v 1 where he will lose out to anyone with a bit of agility and pace but at least there was a fair bit of effort to actually close players down yesterday. Romey 1878
I liked what I saw from him yesterday. No complaints about him whatsoever, and he was definitely one of our top performers. I know people will say "but we were shite!", and we were, but he stood out to me.

Bailey
Can't speak about the Swansea game but last week was as easy as he will get. Loads of time on the ball, Newcastle more interested in going in behind than through the middle. I hope this is a return to his best but I'd like to see more evidence first. Sibdane
Really do hope this is a return for him. He is arguably our best player when he plays at the top of his abilities. I think he is our most technically sound player when on form. Matt, Quinn31 and StevO
plaidharper
His issue for me has always been effort/attitude. Shining against two weak teams does nothing to change my opinion of him/that. I hope he proves me wrong (not holding my breath). Sibdane, Bailey and Aidan
