He’ll be here longer than that. We’ll be giving him the multi-year contract he wanted when we first approached him.

Im devastated tbh.

You'd be more devastated with Nigel Adkins managing us in League 1 in two years.

Shame we couldn't get Silva - maybe he'll be available in the summer.

I’ve listened to Allardyce a few times recently on Talksport and thought he talked a lot of sense and came across really well and I even changed my opinion of him a little bit. HOWEVER, that was before I ever imagined that he could possibly be the future Everton manager. I can’t believe what we have been reduced to, that after all the preseason optimism with the new investment, signings, new stadium plans etc. we are now signing the type of manager that we would have signed 10-15 year’s ago. A firefighter. A mercenary. A safety first never won anything, never will man.

I just hope it’s temporary (end of season) or if he insists on a longer contract that Moshiri is already budgeting in, the cost of sacking him in the Summer when Silva or the likes is available and we can get this whole damn mess back on track.

He plays direct football we don’t have the players to play like that. I can see this being an absolute disaster.

Steve Walsh has absolutely fucking wrecked us- he’s the one advocating Fat arse- so he sanctions £150 million pounds worth of players then advocates a relegation expert to save us. Just about fucking sums Everton up beautifully that doesn’t it.

Actually, I think you could do a lot worse than Allardyce. This will be his biggest job in club football, and you may say what you want, but he is a competent manager. He'll get you sorted out, and get the players up for it. In addition, his teams are much easier on the eye than Pulis, who might well be in the running...

You looked relegation material at Southampton. While Unsworth is one of your own, he has no business being Everton manager. It would be like us appointing Keown or Henry, neither having any experience managing at this level.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. Could this get any more embarrassing? We have to go crawling back to Allardyce after he publicly fucked us off for being too slow to make him an offer... We're a laughing stock.

Yes he very well may save us from relegation. But at what price? We need what has been sadly lacking since Moshiri came in, a clear plan and strong leadership. Allardyce at best a short term fix who will bring in a load more mercenaries on massive wages, clear out our back room staff, hamper the progress of our kids and fuck off when it suits him. He is not the manager who brought Okocha, Campo and Djorkaeff to Bolton, he has become a parody of himself. I'd rather hand Neil Warnock a pile of cash, at least he has some integrity.

Also, this is Walsh's pick - the director of football who has just overseen the worst period of recruitment in the club's history. I fucking give up.

Neil Warnock has no integrity whatsoever, just ask people who have played for him. BS is not my first choice but after 50 years of watching the Blues (45 as a season ticket holder) I don’t care who it is. Every single boss out there is a gamble. I didn’t want the manager of Blackburn Rovers in 1981 and look how that turned out. I did want RK and, again, look how that turned out. Sam is not a crook as some on here seem to suggest. What he is is a very experienced take no bullshit manager who tried to help a mate out and lost all he dreamed of. No reflection on his qualities as a manager.

As I said not my first choice but possibly just what is needed.

Well if it is Fat Sam, then at least we know what to expect.

We'll defend first, so We'll concede far less than we are now. And probably aim to scrape wins. But he's a defend first type manager.

If it is him, please be short term, and please do not hand him a penny in January.

I don't want him. But if it is him, I'm ready!!!

Fuck, fuck, fuckety, fuck.

Fuck. Well we are in the shit and playing the worse football I can remember watching in my 40 years of supporting this fine club.

If Allardyce is the manager, then as Romey says I will be supporting the club tho not the manager, and that is going to be weird to say the least.

But, and its a big but, the club is in such a poor state, where the players seem to be de-motivated and rudderless, that an Allardyce boot camp maybe just what we need right now. Get organised, shift out the crap. Get some new players in, 2 center backs, left back, and striker are a must, as long as they are Walsh not Allardyce choices.

Get back to having a solid base to build from. We have the players to play good football and if we get a solid back 4, and proper striker then I believe they can start to play their natural game without the fear that every time an attack breaks down we are going to concede.

I don't mind Sam bringing in 10 new coaching staff as frankly we need them as after we sacked Koeman, most of his staff left and they need replacing.  All this is dependent on this being a temporary appointment until the summer when we can get a much more Everton manager.

To be honest I will just be glad when this is all over.
