Matt
The kid hasn't even been given a full season to get up to speed. Both times he's stepped in to a team shippin goals and throwing away games, and he has helped limit the damage. I think, given a full season he could truly flourish. markjazzbassist, StevO and Cornish Steve

Kankurette
I suspect Joel thinks he has to kiss Bob's arse because of the Instagram thing. We all know what happened to Leighton Baines...
Btay
He's made some big saves, especially one v one. For his size, I'd like to see him come off his line taking out anyone in his path to gather the ball. Has improved the team for me.
Kankurette
He also shouts at the players more than Howard did. And he's good on penalties.
Matt
Hes just about to turn 26, and not had the opportunity to have a full season. He will be coming into his prime shortly and I'm convinced, given a real run of games, he will turn out to be a solid, not amazing, number 1. He will be coming into his prime shortly and I'm convinced, given a real run of games, he will turn out to be a solid, not amazing, number 1. I don't disagree with you, but we should be looking for an amazing number 1 and have a fantastic backup keeper. Best teams in the world, usually have two decent keepers. One who is the first team starter, the 'next level' player and then on the bench, have a top "understudy". If you go out and spend a fortune on a top keeper and he gets injured, a decent backup will determine how well you do for the games the number 1 is out. I think Joel has proved than when called upon, he's more than capable of stepping in. I don't think he's an amazing keeper but he's much better than Tim has been in his last 2 years. Would like to keep Joel whatever happens. I think he's a genuinely nice guy as well (who can turn passionate in games!).

StevO
I'd love a top keeper to come in, but I've no problem if Joel is our first choice next season either.

brisbaneblue
Stek should be available again for the game against Hull but I think Joel has earned the no. 1 spot for a probationary period.
Romey 1878
Joel is still very rough round the edges, but he's very young for a GK so it should be expected. Stek is a very experienced player and he's a calamity waiting to happen. You'll get the City performance from him but those sort of performances are the exception, the pathetic attempted saves like against Burnley are the norm. I'm not even saying Joel should be our long-term number one. If it's decided we need to go out and spend on someone like Jordan Pickford or Fraser Forster then so be it, but Stek isn't good enough and should've been the number 2 he was brought in to be. markjazzbassist
I gotta hand it to him today. Hell of a match. A couple really great saves and the way he came out on Silvia to stymie that attack was brilliant. I thought he did great on sterling as wel and was glad it wasn't a pen. London Blue
Played well and deserves his chance. Still needs to work on coming for crossed tho. He is young and will get better.
MC11
He's done ok. Stek will be back in next game "Koeman"
Paddock
Did he say that or are you summising? I think if he was going to put Stek back in it would have been today.
Palfy
He took control of his area and was decisive when shutting there chances down, if you're a defender that's the sort of display you want from your keeper makes your job easier. Hope he keeps the No1 slot.
Btay
Shot he got down to from Augero was similar to kevs goal, awesome display as every time he was needed he handled each situation with confidence and abilitiy. He deserves the rest of the season to prove himself.

Cornish Steve
The one negative from today was the number of times we left City forwards unmarked in front of goal. Robles saved us more than once and did an excellent job throughout.

Paddock
We were exposed at the back on a few occasions. In our defence webwere playing City who have some of the best attacking players in the world but Robles was very good yesterday ans I'm delighted for him.
