markjazzbassist
put it on a plate more than a couple times today (assist included). maybe he just needs time to adjust and be played centrally.
Aidan
Doesn't matter where he is played he's only good at one thing and that's set pieces
Bailey
One of them was a free header, still a good ball but it was shocking defending. IMO THE one that hit the post was the better delivery, almost undefendable. He still doesn't do enough from open play.
Lowensda
People are surprised that he's a one trick pony?

Romey 1878
Do you know what? I used to think he was a decent player but after being subjected to him every week I'm forced to reconsider - he's shite. How he was still on the pitch at the full-time whistle today is madness. Bailey
Agreed, absolutely fucking useless today. Completely uninvolved. Thats what I saw at Swansea tbh. Lowensda
Aidan
6ft 1, can't use his height or strength. Can't dribble with the ball. Can't thread the ball. Can't really recall him having a good shot on target. Doesn't even stray out wide for crosses. Even if he does he doesnt have anyone to aim for. 45m on shite. One trick pony. pete0

Alarmingly he's always been like that. So who the fuck 'scouted' him also needs a P45.
Wiggytop
One trick pony? His delivery today was awful, first two free kicks didn't clear the first man, at other times Arsenal players breezed past him as if he wasn't there, slow to react, play passed him by, and he failed to put a foot in when needed, totally unimpressed with him so far
Cornish Steve
He does just fine for the Icelandic team, and they're in the World Cup in part because of him. The problem lies not with the player.... markjazzbassist and Matt
Finn balor
For such an outlay he was totally the wrong player we needed. He is just average for me. Cleverly Mark

Guest
He's a good player and proved himself against top sides for years. The pressure he is under with that price tag must be harrowing. Give him a season and a new manager and I think you'll see a different player. I still have faith he'll come good. He's trying too hard at present. captainbeaker
My view is he will always be best when a team is built around him, not shoe horned into a team that does not suit him. Most of the game bypasses him the way we play. I wouldn't blame the scouts on this one, Koeman wanted him desperately hence why we went way above market value. Hafnia
He was a koeman pick - koeman has said he tried to buy him at Southampton. He spent £45m on a player he doesn't know how to use.

Newty82
You could see the anguish on him yesterday. The bloke is really trying and knows he's not at his best. Like many of our newbies, he has more to offer than he is currently able to.

pete0
Swansea need a set piece specialist, wonder if they'd give us a full refund? http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/swansea-citys-unacceptable-set-pieces-13866252.amp plaidharper
markjazzbassist
i have to throw my hands up, i was dead wrong on this one. he has offered nothing bar the wonder goal. not even his set piece deliveries have been good. not sure what's going on, because he was scoring for swans. Not playing very well, low on confidence, playing in a team not playing very well that also lack confidence. When he and the team are more settled, and have a bit of form we will see his class. Same goes for Klaassen, Sandro, and Keane.

Quite simply, as well as the most of the team, he's been played out of position in a toxic atmosphere. He'll come good
Bluemineck
Still Believe Gylfi will come good and possibly Keane with Mori beside him. Klassen will not. Undecided on Sandro.

His general play isn’t that good. His stats are skewed massively due to set-pieces. From open play he’s not that useful. None of what has transpired should be a surprise to anyone. He’s slow because he’s always been slow. He’s shit out wide now because he’s always been shit out wide. He’s anonymous during games now because he’s mostly been anonymous during games unless there’s a set-piece to take. We massively overpaid for a player with a very specific skill set that we can’t take advantage of. StevO

He has not been played enough in his best position behind a striker, even if he did it wouldn't help because we don't have an established, experienced striker for him to work with. Yes we overpaid for him but that's the market we operate in. Matt
