As limited as he is, he creates an impact, and we definitely need someone to come off the bench and do that!

If we are going to play one up front for the rest of the season Niasse is the man to bring on when you need someone to get a goal, if we got rid of him and continued with Tosun as our main striker that would leave DCL to come on as the impact striker to get a goal, I really can't see DCL contributing in that role unfortunately scoring doesn't seem to be in his armoury, I even think Niasse will be here next season and if we buy another striker I can see DCL going out on loan.

Since we were granted a striker with ability in Lukaku, and he showed that if you have ability you'll score for fun.

Niasse scores for fun.... look at his goals per minutes.  He also shares lukakus inability to play football at a high level.

He's in good company.

Without the criticality of niasses goals we would be 19th.... He has won us 8 points on his goals alone. Must be awful for the football purists on here to stomach.... apparently we would have got relegated without lukaku (which was actually incorrect as per his flat track bully/score when game is already over goals.)

We genuinely would be in the shit with our niasse.

PRESS THE RED BUTTON IF YOU THINK LUKAKU HAS THE TOUCH OF AN ELEPHANT.

I'm sort of a Niasse fan.  I guess it's a combination of the fact that he does score a few goals, his movement is sometimes bizarrely effective, and his determined work ethic through the clumsy, even ugly, treatment has been admirable.

I strongly oppose his being sold or loaned.  I realize Allardyce has said he has to reduce the squad.  Others seem more logical candidates for selling or loaning in this window than Niasse.

No thanks.

Why not? Surely you can see the comparisons??? Two footballers who have the touch of an elephant, concede possssion a fair bit.... one works his arse off the other has more polish in his finishing but ultimately both score goals....

I know it is tough to accept that lukaku was more Emile Heskey than Didier Drogba but he was.

Why don't you start the debate on Akinfenwa vs Lukaku in the Lukaku forum - don't think we've discussed that angle yet

I think lukaku is better than him to be fair.  But I don't think Moreno would push akinfenwa off the ball like he did with lukaku.

He may have a great goals to game ratio but that' because he isnt as good from the start. He has started 5 games and scored 2, Watford and Palace. Still roughly 15 goals a season mind!

Like Lukaku he is a flat track bully though drawing blanks at the big sides  (Utd, Liverpool, Burnley). 😁

Name me one who scores more against the top sides.  Doesn't happen.  All strikers score more against the lesser sides, nature of the beast.

15 goals a season off the bench for an impact player is what any club would hope for!

Its a shame we haven't got the 20 goal a season striker to go with it.
