Popular Post StevO
It would be a no for me. Only on the basis that we bought him for £50m and that’s the going rate for the likes of Ben White who’s not played at a high level very long. For us to sell him, and replace him, we would need to be looking at the kind of money we got for Lukaku. Above £85m I think we’re talking. Also, no need for any good grace with Real after Carlo going there. Watford bumped Richarlisons price up after Marco Silva, we should be doing the same. markjazzbassist, Wiggytop, MikeO and 3 others
London Blue
Depends if we can get an adequate replacement and have cash left over for further strengthening. StevO
Matt
£100m then he can go. Seriously though, Sancho just went for £74m, I think £77m is about right. Depends who we brought in to replace him to be honest. StevO, markjazzbassist and pete0

RuffRob
and 2021 transfer market is not the same as it was a couple of years ago. Its kind of relative - this summer £77M will go as far as £100M would have gone a couple of seasons ago. Most players value will have come down relative to each other. As an example, I imagine you might purchase Leon Baily and McNeil for £77M, maybe with some change this summer!! dunlopp9987

pete0
Should start the negotiations at the Coutinho fee. Let them spread out the costs if need be. Not like we need the cash, we just need it on the balance sheet. Matt
Btay
Every player has their price. I’d just like to see at least 1 season with him at LW and another pacey, goal minded RW (left footed).

Some of the big clubs sound like they sail close the wind with their finances. The bigger your turnover then the bigger the financial hit from Covid. My guess is a lot of these European clubs have had there fingers we'll and truly burn. Not a surprise they really went for it with this Super League stuff. I think this year they realised how vulnerable they are to a change in their fortunes!! They now rely on the income sources that we are still only dreaming of. Their finances aren't the best, however my point is more focused on the fact that we paid £35m and he's still under contract until 2024. My guess is a reasonable fee would be around double what we paid. Real Madrid could get a lot more quality with £70m than Richarlison. Ancelotti obviosely likes to buy players he has worked with before. So would hazard a guess that Richy is somebody high on his radar. I know we all agree that Olympics isn't that high a level in football, but the fact he seems to be bagging in goals for fun if we are looking to sell this summer. The lads going to be pretty goosed after all this football he has been playing. I can see his club form dipping this year. markjazzbassist
