duncanmckenzieismagic
He's got that badge but it's largely luck imo, if we keep playing at the level he's got us at at the moment we'll go down. Have you seen us worse?I’ve been saying for most of the season that this is the worst Everton side I’ve ever seen MikeO

To be fair there are probably 17 managesbin thw premier league that have never been relegated... let’s just take a roll and grab one... they are obviously qualified! He needs to test himself and, tbh, I think it’d do us good to have some fresh ideas with the U23s. I’d like to think that Brands would have a big role in hiring a replacement (if it comes to that) seeing as the academy and the structure of it is supposed to be part of his remit. pete0
Unsworth would be a big loss. The academy have a seperate budget to the first team so he's been the one responsible for bringing in Holgate and DCL. Matt
Gwlad
If he did go could take Baines with him as coach.

Yeh Martinez signed Holgate but I think DCL was an academy signing. I am pretty sure all academy signings go through the scouting dept and DoF and I hardly imagine Unsworth being trusted to scout and select players on his own. markjazzbassist

Correct, just found this. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-paid-15m-striker-dominic-11944556.amp Would seem he was key in signing him, twice as it turns out. Btay
Think it’s a great move for Unsy and also us. Perfect avenue for first team experience for young players and not too far from home for them markjazzbassist and Bailey

c1982
Set to leave to pursue first team management options elsewhere - not a bad thing in my opinion. Good luck to him all the same. Bailey, Matt and Romey 1878

I mean what will we do without Unsworth winning the under 23 league with players like Beningame who should have been moved on ages ago when there are 17/18 year old genuine prospects who should be playing instead of him. Be interesting to understand how Josh Bowler was allowed to move on and he is now ripping it up at Blackpool.

plaidharper
Best of luck to Rhino. If first team management is really his goal then this is a positive move for both parties. Hoping this is Thelwell's doing and the owner / board are wising up. We shall see.
