What I would say though is it’s wrong for people to judge others on here who were simply questioning if it was depression, or if he has a bad attitude. There 100% are people out there who are bad people. And this comes from a big believer in Physics. It’s easy for a few on here to say I told you so, but in fact an educated guess is still a guess. Quoted you above Matt, but not directing this at you, but as a collective. Ive always felt that it’s strongly likely that he is really suffering, and this confirms it. But that isn’t due to my knowledge or ability to recognise this… but just my assumption being right, that’s all. It’s heartbreaking to see things like this and try to understand how they are feeling. It rips you apart inside. To see Neville’s reaction should bring it home to people. Dele has me wanting him to succeed so much. It would be a triumph for our club to bring this young man back to enjoying his sport. Worth a lot more than a 10m risk. I will give him the biggest welcome i can when he enters the pitch next. Well said Shukes

Any wonder why he “self medicated”. I did point out that he had a troubled background a while back, his blood parents got their version out there didn’t they. No wonder Alli got taken off his shirt. Just watched the whole thing. Ripped me apart. What I will say is that is one courageous young man. To speak so openly about such a difficult subject. I have a new found deep respect for Dele now. Popular Post Newty82
Who'd have thought that footballers are human beings eh? I've no idea who said what in here, don't even know what I've said to be fair! But nows a good time for us to sit back and reflect on how we jump to things without knowing. If we can get Dele back...man, we've made a whole new signing that will be worth every penny we'll have to pay. He articulates himself very well. I had counselling over a period of a couple of months for anxiety and depression. The questionnaire that you have to complete each week touches on things such as “Shame”, “feeling like you are letting your family down” , “feeling hopeless”. I take a reasonably low dose of Sertraline every day and I’m thankful it takes the edge off for me. Sadly I think I can spot a person who struggles with anxiety and depression, although the depth of how it works can mean you miss it in many. God bless all those who struggle, you aren’t alone. Popular Post Newty82
13 minutes into the full interview so far. Two things have got me feeling fuming... 1) He had to give this interview before he wanted to because the press were onto it and pestering the club. The press are poisonous. I don't know how that industry is allowed to function the way it does. 2) The way clubs are using sleeping tablets. These players are hammered so much they need to be given sleeping tablets to get a good kip? Ontop of all the other injections etc they tend to get...thats poor. Money over life eh. Popular Post Wall Writer
The key point he made for me was the ultimate acceptance of his condition and the need for help. That is such a huge step in itself. It's only once you are able to admit to yourself that you need help that you can really start to heal. There is always still a long way to go but those first steps are so important. I'm glad, on a human level, that he's finally found the inner strength to do that. We all know there's a player in there and I would love to see him get through this and getting back to his best in an Everton shirt. Well done Dele, and good luck in your recovery. dunlopp9987, StevO, MikeO and 5 others

Popular Post Btay
The utmost respect for him. That is a huge, huge step & what he has gone through to sit there and just talk about it - I want him to succeed so much now because he very much deserves it! More importantly I hope he just finds happiness. Dele after that interview will have the backing of everyone of the fans because they will respect him and will protect him. Popular Post Shukes
I only spoke last night about sleeping tablets to Anna. Im reflecting myself now and looking at other ways to combat sleepless nights. If someone in a position like that can admit to it, then I have to start taking responsibility for myself and realise that anxiety is a massive thing. I sit there watching tv with my hand on my throat as it always feels like I’m being strangled or that something is tightening my throat. Yet I’m wearing no top. I lie in bed and once I have bit onto a thought I can’t let it go and won’t sleep. I have to go down stairs and turn on the tv. Then I usually find myself nodding off just before my 6 o’clock alarm goes off. Why? This guy has been through hell and back. Had things happen in his life that no one should go through. I’ve got fantastic kids, a life long friend and partner in Anna who is my life. Don’t have much money, but enough to have a decent home and lifestyle. I have my own company, nothing special, but it’s mine. Im inspired by the way Deli has came out and spoken. I’m humbled, I’m upset, I’m willing with every bone in my body that he turns it around. Think I’m also in shock a bit if that makes any sense. You know what, I’m 50 on Monday….. and I’m gonna have the day off. Fuck it. I’m gonna have the day off and take Anna for a nice lunch time meal. Sorry for ranting guys, that’s just hit me a little harder than I could have ever expected. dunlopp9987, MikeO, Goodison Glory and 11 others 12

I started trying CBD gummies a couple of weeks ago. I swear they have made a massive difference to me. I’m similar in that if I get a thought in my head when I’m trying to sleep I can’t let it go, I used to be able to just write it down or email it to myself if I thought it was important but recently got to the point it kept me awake and I’d be scared to look at the clock. The CBD seems to have me not really get stuck in these thoughts, and half of the time now im sleeping right through the night (unless my two year old daughter decides I’m waking up). Might be worth trying mate, certainly can’t get any worse that it seems for you. anyone want them try supreme CBD and use discount code Fowler40 Shukes, Matt, MikeO and 2 others 4
