Happy with that provided that Patterson kicks on and manages to stay fit. I'm not sure he has 28 games in him this season. Hopefully we are looking at one or two more fullbacks.

It’s pretty pathetic that, knowing we’ll be very lucky to get 40 matches from Patterson and Coleman combined, RB is nevertheless not a priority signing.  It’s down the desperate list.

Don't see the issue if it's in a captaincy, from the bench kinda' role.

If we've got plans to play him for a good portion of the season then we're asking for trouble.

Played better than Patterson on numerous occasions this past season.  Reality is that our squad's level is low and we have been and are in trouble.

Glad our captain is back in our thin squad.  A true blue.

I loved that he had to swap wings because he was getting nothing out of Coleman (and Young).

All that happened, though, is that he left Coleman’s pocket to be shackled by Mykolenko.

Perfection.

Is it universally accepted that he is a great captain these days or do some still think he is a shit captain?

I don't think it's ever been in question that he's a great off the field captain, it's only really been about his on field captaincy.

However, I do feel that the tough years we've gone through really has brought out the best of his on field captaincy. So now you probably wouldn't want anyone else doing it and it would help if he could get himself on the pitch more.

If people in the game like Carlo, Lampard and Dyche all talk openly about what a great captain he is, as well as players like Tarky and Coady, that will do for me.

When he leaves the club we will be worse off without him.
