It’s really hard to figure what’s happened to him in the last few years. He will always run & put a shift in but he lacks some serious quality on the ball. This. It is a confidence thing. He was also flying under Benitez. He is clearly not the most technical player in the league but he has a part to play and that ability to win the ball high up the pitch and also break into the box from midfield are two really big assets that were completely undervalued by Lampard. Heath
All think he looks awkward, like a newborn giraffe, when he gets the ball at his feet. Good to see him finding the net for us though. badaids
StevO
We saw both parts of his game didn’t we? A goal threat and giving the ball away cheaply to concede. Really needs to do better with the ball at his feet. RPG, Sibdane and Romey 1878

Aidan
All 4 of his goal contributions in the league have come in the last 3 games for Doucs. Seems to be enjoying life under Dyche Matt, Romey 1878, Palfy and 1 other

Hoof_It_Nev
Still such a strange player for me, he almost doesn't look like a professional footballer most of the time. He's just so gangly and can never get the ball to stick to his feet, completely irrelevant as long as he's contributing to our goal tally though! Wiggytop
He’s playing with a big smile on his face, tells all, he clearly wasn’t happy under Franks style. Matt
Goodison Glory
Watched the game again....his pass/assist for Simms was first class. I didn't know he had that in his locker to be honest. He is def showing up in a number of ways the last month or so. Good for us and for him. Matt, Palfy and RuffRob

There's a good chance he was just trying to control it based on previous games StevO, Goodison Glory and Shukes

In no circumstances do we want Doucoure picking the ball up off our centre backs. Pressing up the pitch, making late runs into the box and finding space between their midfield and defenders is his game. I still think he is a super limited player in terms of technical ability but he has strengths to be a threat to other teams if used correctly. Cornish Steve Posted Wednesday at 17:12 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:12 It's very nice to see him back on the team and making a difference. Moving him further forward appears to suit him. He and Onana are tall and powerful players, and we're benefiting from that, I think. Matt and London Blue

Very glad he's got his mojo back somewhat.
