The large wage off the books and spare locker will be more than enough compensation to see him gone, nice lad with a bit of talent but never fit enough in the last 2.5 years to use it.

Agree, just leaves a sour taste given the wages and fee we paid for him. Would have been nice to get some money back to reinvest into the squad.

It would have, but he has joined a list of a few now over the last 7 years have taken more than they’ve given.

I appreciate what you are saying Steve but we do seem to attract what seems to be a disproportionate amount of sick-notes.

I'm thinking back to James McCarthy. Do you recall how, in a game where most of the team were apathetic, he single-handedly gave his all. When throwing himself into a critical defensive tackle, he injured himself. To my mind, what he did was admirable, but he became the subject of too many comments about "always being injured" and "a permanent sick note". If we want our players to give their all, they will sometimes get injured. We can't have it both ways.

Yes, and it was Rondon who he tackled ( no intent by Rondon imo ) The difference is Minas current injury was done while he was jogging to the sideline, no one else close by, unless it was that rogue piece of grass that got him 😳

It's called 'blade' for a reason.

If I recall correctly though the leg break came after the serious of hamstring injuries that had plagued him for a good 18 months? Situations where he hadn’t played a game for us months but jetted off for friendlies with the Irish squad. Both Martinez & Martin O Neil did him no favours to be honest.
