Depends how much up front and how much in add ons based on us qualifying for euro and champions league, goals and assists etc.

No payment structure would ever make the deal worth it. He’d have to be a Ronaldo for us and I just don’t think he’s got it in him.

I know I’ve been hard on him, and if he comes he’ll get my full backing, but all my internal alarm bells are ringing that this is Bolaise mk2

Second sources are saying £100m now.... for all you that want him here, do you want him that much?

Do I want him? Yes.

Do I think he's worth that much? No.

Am I paying the money? No.

Must I emotionally detach myself from the monies bring paid these days and just look solely at what the player can add to the starting 11? Yes.

See, I don’t get what he will bring that we don’t already have. But, since I’ve not watched him week in and out, going only on highlights or when he’s played against us, I’ll hold on passing a final judgement and look forward to being very wrong

Yeah, same with me except I like what I have seen. But I've not always been a great judge and I don't watch any where near as much footy as I used to, even highlights, at least last season anyway, so I'm having to trust the powers that be. My knowledge is slowly minimising!!!

I prefer to think of it as becoming more specialised ;)

I want him here, but the only way I’d consider £100m to be worth while was if Cenk Tosun was £25m of that and McCarthy £10m, plus £65m cash.

It’s just stupid money for an average player. That’s what’s blinding me here. I’ve said before something like £30-40m would be my limit considering the market, but even that makes me uncomfortable. Just feels like we’re being outplayed again by Palace

If it’s £100m cash I’d rather offer Real Madrid £70m for Bale and give him a massive signing on fee. I know there is no resale value, but he would be huge.

Real want rid, so I think we could get him cheaper but agree with the rest

£600k a week, he wont drop that wage. He's injury prone. This is why only Chinese clubs was coming in for him and no other big European team.

Zaha is easily one of the best players outside the top 6, I don't get why people wouldn't want a very good player who is an upgrade on our squad. A player who wants to join us, even when we don't have European football to offer (which will be putting off the cheaper alternatives on the continent). He's proven in this league, scores goals and wins a lot of freekicks / pens.

Prices of footballers have changed, £85m buys you poundland Michael Keane these days so £70m for Zaha isn't "that" bad of a price.

I think if they hadn’t sold Bassaka they wouldn’t want so much for him. Now they’ve got cash in the bank they can push it as they don’t need the money.

I think he will be great for us if we can get him in though.

Тhe point is, if Zaha is really that good, I don't have opinion as I rarely watch Palace, and they want 60-70 mil for him, we better get him. In two seasons that will be a standard price for any above average premier league forward. As long as he lives up to our expectations, that will be a good deal.

I can never decide how the Premier League compares to American sports in terms of compensation. Salaries are significantly lower in most cases. For instance in baseball a decent pitcher is gonna be $10m-$15m and that can rise to over $30m for the top guys. Basketball is similarly absurd where avg starters command $100m contracts. That being said we don’t have transfer fees which is obviously where a lot of the funds go in football.

Staying at Palace, thank god.

For the prices quoted I’d prob rather take a shot on 23 year old Iwobi who is talented and may develop further and use that extra money in the future. Will be interesting to see if that move happens or we just stand pat until the next window. Winger seemed like a slight luxury position for us so I’m not too concerned if we don’t bring one in.

I’d have loved him here but the prices quoted were ridiculous... it’s not my money to worry about but still. If there was a deal to be done including Tosun and Bolasie then I wouldn’t have minded it being dressed up as ‘worth £80m’ or whatever but Palace clearly wanted silly amounts and fair play to them - he’s got a contract there and is worth far more to them than any other team. Palace fans must see this as priceless as, without Zaha, they’d be pretty toothless in attack.
