Give him the season, it’s been 3-4 matches.  Everyone was swooning over Carlo james allan and then a few months later a lot on here had changed course.  It’s a fickle bunch here, I can't wait till he has a bad game. Then I will be able to jump all over this thread

That's fixed it for you.

Huge effort and after some of the “stars” we’ve had the last 3/4 years putting in piss weak effort

I was only responding to your own observations and James is surely one who’s put  in the least effort in the terms you were alighting to, now it seems you’ve changed your view when it comes to James if though it’s somehow acceptable that he puts in “ piss weak effort “.

Using 'fickle' a lot today. Is it your word of the week or something? :)

For anyone who reads such stuff at the BBC website, he's included in Garth Crooks' Team of the Week.

Saw that he was in alongside St Virgil; was expecting Crooks to say, "Andros Townsend, who plays alongside the maniac Pickford whose horrific challenge...." but he managed to control himself.

I honestly think that Garth Crooks gets out of bed three hours before he's due to leave the house as he keeps getting his head stuck from trying to put it up his jumpers sleeve. The bloke is an absolute maniac when it comes to football opinions.

"Commendable for Andros Townsend to push through the trauma of playing with convicted lunatic Jordan Pickford and put in a good performance, I'm sure his thoughts were with VVD as soon as Everton scored the winner".

Only the Fulham game last year pissed me off. I more the kinds of gylfi, schniderlain, Ashley Williams who did fuck. James atleast drops for the ball and tried to make it happen for us. The others didn’t care, just got paid each week.

There are interviews where Gylfi, for instance, is pointed to as the hardest working player on the team. Ability and effort are different. James is a far better player than those you mention but that doesn’t mean he’s putting in the work for the team. James is tolerated because his talent masks his weaknesses.

I’d like to see a deep dive exploring Pickford performances for each hair style. I feel his game has improved ever since he’s gone to that Gordon Gecko look and need confirmation.

Gylfi might cover some ground but he puts fuck all effort in to get on the ball.

Just telling you what some of the players have said. Rare for a player to put in max effort for the shirt and also have that level talent. Rarer still for a non “elite” club to have and keep a player like that. I would say Richarlison, despite his occasional petulance, is the closest we have to that type of player.

So all that talk about him never hitting another perfect shot eh?

What. A. Goal.

I said he’d never hit one as good as the one against City again, and tonight’s wasn’t. Was still a fucking beauty though.

Just before he set Keane up for his goal I’d just been thinking we should sub him off for Iwobi because, other than giving away the free-kick that led to their goal, he’d done nothing.

Then he puts in that gorgeous ball for Keane and follows it up with his rocket of a goal. I watched that ball all the way in from my seat, and as soon as it left his foot it was never going to be anything other than a goal.

I think that's what makes the goal all the more beautiful, sitting in the Top Balcony I watched it all the way and as you say, as soon as it left his boot you knew exactly where it was ending up.
