Matt Posted December 28, 2019 Report Share Posted December 28, 2019 I gave him a hard time at first but after that first period I’ve been so impressed with him and I’ve said before, he could be our Kane but better rounded as well as a goal threat. He will be on the radar for many “bigger” clubs in the summer so I hope we’re sorting a new contract out for him, he’s certainly earning it. Wiggytop Posted December 28, 2019 Report Share Posted December 28, 2019 I’ve watched him over the last three seasons, he has always struck me as a player who will run and run and run for the team, in addition to that with the support he now has he has become in the goalscorer that we’ve always wanted him to be. I really hope that it continues to develop becomes one of the best strikers we’ve seen at Goodison for a long time, I do think of the teams will come knocking on our door for him, but I think Dom is a player who will stay at Goodison as he appears to love playing here and is now getting love from us as well Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I always rated his work rate strength etc but slated him for lack of goals. I think I said if he gets 15 he would well a truly change my mind. May not be a natural finisher but he's a supreme athlete and he has improved more than almost any player in the league. He just doesn't strike the ball well enough regularly enough. His game craft has improved massively though, especially with someone alongside him so I am more than happy to watch him score tap ins and headers every game! The reason I compare him to Kane is because, way back when I watched everything all the time, Kane couldn’t score or hit the ball properly to save his life around that age. At some point that changed and it was learning the technique and actually be able to apply it in a competitive atmosphere. I wasn't sure he had it in him as a goalscorer and I was a little pissed about just how selfless he was (it was costing him by not being in the right place), but he's become a little bit more selfish and is now in the position for those tap ins and for when little bits of luck drop in the oppositions penalty area. I watched Kane from a very young age, as I used a watch a lot u15, u18 and u21 internationals. He was always second best to Hallam Hope.... and we know how he turned out. DCL has always had food technique and at lower levels scored a lot of goals. That’s because he was always in the team for England. For Everton he never really had a good run, always but parts. I have blew his trumpet for a long time as i really believed that given a good run, he could do a very good job. And despite anyone’s opinions on him.... he has. He has proved he is good enough for the premier league, h has proved that he can score goals. He is becoming a bit of a Gana again, where he seems to be getting universal praise, and just a couple keep trying to play him down. The good trying is, that the ones playing him down have a habit of backing of the wrong horse. I don't think Silva had any clue how to make best use of DCL. He still hits it a bit soft. Credit to him for being in the right place for Richarlison's low cross, but that was a weak hit as well. I don’t remember seeing Henry smash too many balls into the goal, not that he’s at that level, but how hard it’s hit isn’t as important as how accurately it’s hit.
